Bree's POV

Door number 274b.

Nina had dropped me outside of class before making her way to her own but I was reluctant to go in. I knew if I waited any longer that I would be late and not being on time to my first period class wouldn't make the best impression. I couldn't tell you why I was so nervous all of a sudden, this wasn't usually me but all I could think about was Ryder and wanting him to be here next to me.

"Don't worry, you haven't forgotten your clothes." A mellow voice calls out to me from behind.

I spin around to look at the perpetrator of the voice. Her eyes, a hue of green and blue which were framed by dark long eyelashes stared back at me. She wore a pair of baggy jeans that hung loosely on her hips, which she matched with a pair of converse and a cropped graphic t-shirt. She looked put-together and stylish yet you could tell she hadn't tried hard to achieve it. Her long, dirty-blonde hair was swept back into a ponytail, accentuating her round face. With the minimal amount of makeup she had on, you could tell she was naturally very pretty.

I watch as she shifts her weight onto one foot her arms folded in a calm but confident manner. When I don't speak she carries on. "You look frazzled. Like everybody's watching you naked. Relax Mr Flounders is cool." She encourages me, with a slight shrug.

Nodding, I feel a slight weight being lifted off my shoulders. Once she notices my posture relax, she reaches out to shake my hand. "I'm Tanner."

I join my hand with hers. "I'm-"

"Bree, you're here!" I recognise Chanel's voice as her and Sarah race towards both Tanner and I. Chanel engulfs me in a hug rocking me left and right for a few seconds before pulling away. No matter how important it was to meet new people, it was always nice to see familiar faces.

"Looking good Bree." Sarah says high-fiving me, a textbook placed firmly against her chest.

"Hold on a second-" Tanner calls, as we all focus our attention on her. "You bitches never greet me like this." She concludes, a frown firmly planted on her face.

Sarah and Chanel exchange glances with each other before giggling. "I see you've met the wonderfully joyous Tanner Elliott." Sarah quips sarcasm dripping in her voice.

"Hey, who's this?"

A tan guy with big brown eyes stalks towards us, a welcoming smile on his face and the slightest of stubble across his jaw. His soft looking brown curls fell delicately on his forehead, the wife beater he was wearing, showing the defined muscles on his arms.

"Hunter this is Bree. Bree this is Hunter." Chanel introduces me to the medium build guy.

"Cool, so you've got Mr Flounders now too?" He asks nodding his head towards me as he adjusts the strap of his backpack on his shoulder.

Tanner scoffs folding her arms in dismay. "Well no Hunter, she just stands outside random doors."

Hunter turns his attention to Tanner and leans into her, his smirk unmistakable. "Hello Tan, how is my favorite little munchkin doing on this fine day?"

"Better when you wasn't here." She fires back moving closer.

Hunter throws his head back in laughter. "Careful Tan, some might think you're flirting with me."
