Bree's POV
"So I've made an itinerary for this weekend."
Nina hands us a laminated sheet of paper which listed a bunch of activities for the upcoming weekend. Nina had called Hunter, Sarah, Tanner, and I into the library before school so we could get the low-down on her plans for the weekend. I had only know Nina for a week but I could tell her planning an hour by hour schedule was nothing new. She liked to plan things until it was faultless. She was a neat freak who liked to have everything well ordered. Hell, even her name sounded perfect; Nina Dawson.
"Hunter you're Mason's best friend. You think he'll like it?"
Hunter looks up from reading the itinerary to send a comforting smile to Nina. "Yeah it's cool, something lowkey always works for Mace."
"Don't you think planning will take the fun out of it though..?" Tanner brazenly asks, before visibly cowering when Sarah, Hunter and I send her death glares. "What?" She asks in bewilderment, reaching to chew on her already bitten nails.
Nina frowns, a downcast expression falling on her face. "This is Mason's eighteenth birthday. I just want everything to go according to plan."
This was another thing about Nina. She was the sweetest. It explained why she was popular and liked by everyone. Not only was she class president but she was captain of the debate club and a straight A student. Her like-ability made it hard for anyone to hurt her feelings. She was like a puppy, and no one wanted to upset a puppy.
Tanner frowns, clearly not even she could endure seeing Nina in despair. "Okay okay." She surrenders. "Plan away."
Nina clasps her hands in excitement, any sign of upset vanishing. "Alright, so you should all be at the campfire at-"
"Is this an exclusive little club or can anyone join?"
Florence's high pitched voice rung throughout the library. She stood hands on hips as she hovered over us. A cheerleading outfit clearly sizes too small clung to her body for dear life.
"Florence, I knew there was a bad smell around here." Tanner scowls. "What do you want?"
"Oh hey Tan, still wearing guy clothes I see." Florence sneers, eyeing Tanner's baseball jersey.
"Would you leave her alone?" Hunter snaps, coming to Tanner's defence.
Florence opens her mouth to retort but something in my hands instead catches her eye. "Hey, what's this?" She calls, speedily grabbing the itinerary out of my hands. She scans it for a brief moment before looking to Nina. "So Dawson..." She sniggers, her patronizing tone clearly apparent. "You're planning Mason's birthday party for this weekend correct? If you ever want some ideas from someone who really knows him you can ask me anytime, promise."
"Just because your dads are business partners and your families occasionally have dinner together does not mean you know him." Nina remarks, taking her itinerary out of Florence's grasp. "Now, just do us all a favour and go the fuck away."
Florence claps slowly in the most condescending way possible. "Ooh Miss Ray of Sunshine swears, who would've thought?"
I sigh, standing up to meet eye level with Florence. "Don't you have other people as miserable and unhappy as you to recruit to hell, she-devil?"
