Chapter 19

This chapter does not have a lot of drama because it's going to be the start of the drama if you know what I'm saying. I wanted to add the drama in this chapter but it would've just went too fast.

"Hinami-san!!" The two younger boys cried as they ran over to the doors to hug their babysitter. She knelt down and hugged the two young boys before waving as you came down the hall in your work outfit. "Good morning Hinami-chan~"

"Good morning (L/N)-san, have a good day at work." She greeted as you thanked her and left out the door to leave for work. You were running a little late but knew if you ran to the train, you could catch the earlier one.

As you reach the doors to the CCG, you were greeted by Haise who was waiting for you at the doors. He had on a smile on his face when he saw you, a smile forming on your own lips. "Good morning Haise, how are you?"

Haise didn't say anything, instead he took your hand and placed two peanuts in your hands and smiled at you. "What are these for?" You asked with a confused smile.

"I'm nuts about you." Haise said with a cheeky smile. It took you a moment before your smile rose and you began laughing at the silly pun. "Haise! Oh my goodness!"

"I'm glad you liked it, let's get inside." As you entered the large building alongside Haise, Akira approached the two of you, stopping both of you in your tracks. "(L/N), please come with me."

You looked at her and glance at Haise before you turn back to Akira. "O-Oh, okay." You give Haise a tight smile before you walk off with Akira. "Do I come to Akira-san?" Haise questions. "You stay there Haise."

Akira brought you to her office that was filled with lots of papers from different missions and ghouls. You were pretty nervous talking to somebody whose rank was so much higher than yours.

"(L/N)," She started startling you. "Y-yes?" You cursed yourself for stuttering. "Here." Looking down you noticed an yellow manilla envelope held toward you as she continued looking for other papers.

"What's this for?" You asked accepting the folder addressed to you. "You'll be going on the next mission as a medic for the investigators. Read up about the mission and there will be a meeting held about it tomorrow."

"Right!" You respond as she hands you a small card with your name on it. "Take this card and take it over to the room where the investigators get their battle gear. You can pick yours up there as well. That is all for now, have any questions ask Haise or come ask me."

You nodded as she walks around you toward the door. "Thank you."

Exiting the door behind Akira, you noticed that Haise was still waiting there for you. "Haise? Why are you still waiting?" You ask as he continued to walk with you. "I wanted to walk with you." He responded. "Did Akira-san talk to you about the mission?"

Nodding, you showed him the folder. "I never thought I'd get to go on a mission, really nerve wracking." You state as you walked toward your small office. "It makes me feel better knowing you'll be there too."

"Do you have any work soon?" You ask Haise opening your office door. "Nope, that's why I want to spend it with you." You sigh and look at him with a smile. "You're clingy." You joke poking Haise's arm.

About an hour goes by and all you've been doing was reading and catching up on the mission, making sure you've gotten all the import information down. Haise was on the floor reading some of your books, he didn't look too bored.

"Alright, i've got the gist of the mission. Do you want to go with me to get my uniform?" You ask as you quickly wrote stuff down on your papers. Haise looked up from the book and nodded before closing it. "Sure!"

"Since you're going on the mission, who will Izuki and Chiaki stay with?" Haise asked as the two of you walked down the stairs. "I'll probably have them spend the night at their babysitter's house."

Knocking lightly on the wall next to the door, an older lady turned her head as you and Haise waved at her. "Hi, I'm here to pick up my uniform." She nodded and smiled, walking toward you. "I have my card that Akira-san gave me."

"Thank you dear." she replied as she took it and walked to the back of the room to grab you the outfit. Quickly, she came back and held out the dark outfit. "Here you go, be safe on the mission."

"Thank you, have a nice day." You respond giving her a small bow before you left to go back to the office. "I can't wait to wear this. Makes me feel official." Haise chuckled and walked back with you to the room.

"Yeah, that's fine. My mom surely won't mind. In fact she loves seeing pictures of Izuki and Chiaki. She thinks they're adorable!" Hinami exclaimed as you asked her if she was willing to let them stay the day of the mission.

(Hinami's mom is not dead in here! She's still alive!)

"Aw, you're a lifesaver Hinami! Thank you! tell your mother Thank you as well!" You replied happily as you gave her a big hug. "Of course, see you tomorrow!" Hinami said as she shut the door behind her.

"Mommy? Are you going somewhere?" Chiaki asked as he and Izuki looked at you from the living room. "No, not now. Why?" Walking over to the young boys, you sat down as Chiaki crawled into your lap. "You were talking to Hinami about having us stay at her house."

"Mommy's going to go on a mission in a few days with Sasaki-san. So I asked her if she could watch the two of you so you wouldn't be home alone."

"Mission? that's dangerous. What if you get hurt?" Izuki asked concerned. you smiled at him and kissed his head. "I'm just the doctor that helps the people who do get hurt."

They nodded and smiled at you. "Okay, don't get hurt then mommy."

"You two are too sweet."
