"But just for the record I'm still pissed about wren lake."
"It's a tradition Lydia, the guys said-"
"I don't give a shit what the guys said!" I glared, "You might actually not be as heartless as I thought you were, and you might care about me but that doesn't make you any less of an asshole."
"Look, I'm an idiot. I try to impress people and I do stupid shit sometimes, I'm inconsiderate about anyone's feelings apart from my own, so for that I am sorry." Jake sighed
"I forgive you."
"Really?" His eyes lit up like a child
"Really. But if you pull that shit again-"
"I won't, I promise."
"Good. I'll hold you to that promise."
"So as a token of my appreciation for you forgiving me, we are gonna skip Spanish class and go grab some food and head to the car wash because I need to get that shit off of my truck."
"Good because the sheriff's daughter could not be seen driving around with a Fitzgerald boy as well as riding shotgun in a truck that has doosh written across it." I spoke sarcastically.
"Now that would be absurd."

"I thought we were going out for lunch?"
We stepped inside The Fitzgerald household, Jake dropped his bag in the doorway whilst I awkwardly followed him around his home.
Now I'd only been in the Fitzgerald household on a number of occasions, once when Jake had a party at his place and another time when I got into a physical fight with Nina, in which I lost and ended with bloody nose, and Jake felt bad so took me back to his place to help me clean up.
But the last time I was there was over a year ago, so everything seemed so much different.
"Well on the way over here a thought occurred to me, why don't we just order Chinese food and clean the car ourselves? Now that would be way more fun."
"Or way cheaper." I chuckled, "for a rich boy you really are a cheapskate."
"What can I say?"
I laughed, following the brunette boy upstairs as he jogged to his bedroom. It was just as I'd expected it to be, posters of naked girls on the wall, dark painted walls with chipped paint, a little messy. Just like every adolescent boys bedroom usually was.
"Sorry about the mess." He said, throwing a few pairs of boxers and a couple t-shirts into the laundry hamper, "I wasn't expecting any visitors."
"It's fine, my rooms way worse than this."
"I've seen." He laughed slightly, sitting himself down on his bed
"We're gonna be back by last period, right? Because if I get another phone call home my dads gonna ground me again."
"Oh it's fine, even if you are grounded I can always sneak in through the window..." He winked, "you know, keep you entertained?"
"I'm gonna have to pass on that."
"It's your loss."
