"So? You wanted to talk?"
Emma angrily lead me into her room, I hadn't even been inside of her house since the murders began, but it was exactly the same as I remembered, a large bed in the centre of the room, creme walls, a light blue comforter.
She dropped her bag beside her bed, she would barley even look at me, I think that's what got to me the most, that I'd made my own best friend so disgusted by me that she could barely even look me in the eye.
"Let's talk."
"Okay..." I sighed, "I'm gonna tell you everything this time. You deserve to know, I don't give a damn what Will says anymore."
"Could you hurry it up a little? Some of us need to do some last minute preparations for the vigil."
"Okay, okay!" I dropped my hands into my lap, "I was over at Will's place, we were studying and waiting for Jake to arrive, but he never showed, bastard can never keep to his promises, even with a murderer running around."
Emma smiled slightly and i could tell, bit by bit, that I was getting through to her.
"And one second Will and I were studying and the next he kissed me and I kissed back and it was like I lost control over all of my actions. It was just for a minute Emma, I swear to god. As soon as I realised what I'd done I told him to stop but Will tried to persuade me to carry on but I told him that I couldn't do that to you and that was when he threatened me... He said that if I ever told you- that he'd kill me."
"Oh my god..."
"I'm so sorry Em, I should've just told you in the first place I-"
"Just get out, please."
"I'm really sorry Em..." I shot her a sad smile before I slung my backpack up onto my shoulder
"I'm not mad, I just- I can't talk about this right now. I'm sorry, you need to leave."
"If you never want me in your life again then I wouldn't blame you, I wouldn't want me either."

"How do I look big brother?"
The dim glow of the fairylights hanging from my bedroom wall lit up the room, allowing me to see my sad figure in the body length mirror that stood by my window.
"You look beautiful." A sigh slipped passed Kieran's lips as he pressed a tired kiss to the top of my head.
I stared at myself one final time in the mirror, scanning my outfit incase there was anything wrong with it. There was nothing. Brooke had chosen my outfit, claiming even though it was a vigil for my friends that I should still look my best, she'd picked a long sleeves black skater dress, a pair of patterned tights and a white flower crown, that I had promised Nina she could have if I ever died, oh how the tables had turned!
"I'm not supposed to look beautiful, I'm supposed to look sad." I sat down on the edge of my bed, "I'm really gonna miss them..."
"I know you are, but they wouldn't want you to be so sad."
"I cant help it." I passed Kieran his leather jacket that had been carelessly tossed onto my bed, "You're coming to the vigil right? I need you there for support."
"Don't worry I'm coming, I might be a little late though."
His eyes scanned the sand coloured jacket, almost as if he had been expecting something to be wrong with it, but after a few seconds he shrugged it on and placed a caring hand on either one of my shoulders.
"I'll be there, okay? I promise. I've just got to... do something, before I go, but I'll be there, okay?"
"Okay." I sadly nodded
Suddenly my phone erupted with Daddy Issues by The Neighbourhood, which just so happened to be the ringtone Jake had set for himself on my phone, so I immediately knew he was waiting outside.
"Kier, I gotta go, Jake's outside. I'll see you at the vigil?"
"Maybe." He shrugged
I took that as a hopeful yes and as quick as a rocket I was out of the door, my purse carelessly tucked beneath my arm and my phone clutched in my hand as I scrolled through the storm of condolence texts I'd been receiving since my friends begin to die.

Two girls dead and only one boy? I think it's time to even the score a little. But is it gonna be the Belmont boy or The Jake?
Or BOTH
At the mere sight of the name unknown flashing across my phone screen sent shivers down my spine, I knew that I wouldn't be able to handle it if Will or Jake died, I'd already lost Riley, I couldn't lose another person that I cared about.
Especially Jake, I thought to myself, but I immediately cursed my own mind for being so selfish.
"Hey!" A smile met the handsome boys lips as he leaned up against his truck, "You ready to go?"
"You showed." I smiled, tucking my phone into my purse.
"I spoke to Will."
"And?"
"He tried to lie to me about it..." Jake rubbed the back of his neck, "I dont really wanna talk about this, are you ready to go?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."

Almost the entire town showed up to the vigil, and Emma couldn't have been prouder. She'd put so much hard work in to make sure our friends were remembered and it had all paid off, thank god. She'd even gone as far as buying enough candles for the whole town and inviting Noah, Brooke, Audrey, Jake and I to speak about our fallen friends.
Jake had declined, seeing as he knew he'd say soemthing dumb and make a fool of himself but I couldn't pass the chance up, I wanted to make sure people remembered my friends for who they really were, not what everyone imagined them to be.
My hand hooked through Jake's as we approached Audrey in the crowd, she glumly stood infront of the shrine for Nina, Tyler and Riley. For someone who claimed to hate Nina and Tyler she sure looked sad.
"Hey Audrey." I linked my free arm with her own, "You okay?"
"Rachel's not up there." The shorter girl stated
"She deserves a place up there just as much as the others do."
"She deserves a life." She hissed, her head snapping away from my direction to look back at the shrine.
I let out a sigh of anguish, knowing there was no winning against Audrey, I knew that she wasn't upset with me but it felt that way, she was just looking for someone to direct her anger at.
Jake squeezed my hand and immediately all of my feelings of paranoia and sadness and frustration flooded from my body, for a moment.
"Hey." The pad of his thumb slowly ran across my knuckles, "You're okay."
"I will be. I have you now."
