"Boo!"

I let out a scream. My body unhappily welcomed the cold air as I tumbled out of my bed and onto the hardwood floor.

"What the fuck dude?"

"It's un-lady like to swear." Kieran wagged his finger at me, almost as if he was actually disappointed. Sarcastic bastard.

"It's also un-gentlemanly to kick girls out of their own beds."

"And what are you gonna do about it? Kill me?" He let out a laugh, holding his stomach as if the statement was hilarious, but it gave me the creeps, it was almost as if, without even realising, he was taunting me with the deaths surrounding our town.

"I'm kidding... Now get your ass out of bed before I decide not to give you a ride to school." He turned and strolled out of my open bedroom door

"I already am out of bed, because you kicked me out of it!"

"It's cool if you just drop me off at Brooke's house, she doesn't live that far from school so I can always just walk with her."

"Hey! Don't you want to spend a little quality time with your big brother?"

"I don't want to spend more time around you than I already have to."

"That hurts me." He placed a hand over his heart, his other hand firmly gripping the steering wheel, "Right here."

I rolled my eyes in reply.

I hesitated for a moment, "So I heard a rumour about you..."

"And what might that be?"

"You kissed Emma. At the party last night. In the garage."

"Actually it was in the greenhouse."

"I knew it! You so like her." I rolled my eyes, "Too bad it's against girl code."

"Girl code?" He rose a eyebrow, letting out a small chuckle.

"Yeah, a girl can't date her best friends sibling." I shook my head, "Plus, she's still in love with Will, and that's against guy code."

"We'll see about that..."

"Wait- So you told Emma, in front of everyone, that Will slept with Nina?"

I was shocked to say the least, I'd never known that Will had slept with Nina, I knew Jake had in the past, but not Will. I'd never thought Will was the type of guy to cheat on his girlfriend, but then I remembered.

"You didn't tell Emma about me and Will... Right?" I spoke, my eyes nervously flickering around me as we walked towards the school.

"Of course not! Nina was a grade A bitch, you're my best friend. I could never."

"Thanks Brooke. You're the only person I've told." I sighed, "but I am going to tell Emma, when the time is right."

"Tell Emma what?" Riley spoke up as she began to walk along side us.

"Speaking of Emma..." Brooke's voice lowered, "Emma! Hey! You could at least answer one of my texts, I know you're getting them, they say read."

"Hey Riley. Hey Lydia." Emma pulled one of her earphones from her ear, looking directly past Brooke and over at Riley and I as she spoke. She was blatantly still upset with the blonde girl.
