We see with our eyes shut.
What we hear, who knows.
We speak with our mouths wide open,
But our minds completely closed.
When you can't see, hear, or speak right,
Why are words still even used?
Why do people speak cruel words loudly,
If not to get them on the news?
Now words kill,
Leaving kids hung up on their walls.
Now words only seem to mention,
Our own world's downfall.
Remember when words were kind.
Remember when words could console.
Remember when every word rung true.
Remember when words didn't silently hurt us all.
Remember when words made us think.
Remember when words gave us hope.
Remember when words were more than letters on a page.
Remember when words made us love not just hate.
