I Will Endure

You may hate me for my ways,
You may hate me for what I say,
But don't think that'll stop me.
Your sticks and stones may break my bones,
But it won't leave me on the ground,
Your words may hurt,
But I don't listen to pointless sounds.
I will endure.
No matter the torture,
I will endure.
From me you may steal,
But from my loss I will heal,
And never will I kneel,
I will endure.
You may break me,
Limb for limb,
But you won't take me,
And change what I am.
I will endure.
I may not be a winner,
But I will not accept that I'm a loser,
Because a loser is someone who accepts defeat,
I defy it,
And instead work to be better,
Because I endure.
I will grow from my fall,
Not just stand back up,
I'll stand tall, no, taller,
Because I will endure.
A diamond from the ruff,
I'll stand tough,
I will endure.
Like a heart that's been broken,
Misery won't leave me choking.
I will endure.
Like human-kind,
Though blind,
I will endure.
So don't even try to break me,
Because if there's one thing I can assure,
It's that I will endure.
From the fumes,
From the bashes,
From the lies,
From the ashes,
I will endure.
