Chapter 2

I lay across Joe's torso with my eyes closed as he ran his fingers up and down my back. I jerked back a little when he reached the base of my back and laughed. 

"I knew you were awake," Joe laughed happily as I looked up at him. 

"How did you?" I asked, folding my arms over his torso before resting my head down and smiling at him. 

"Because I wouldn't have allowed you to sleep across-" He began before I reached up and kissed him. "Mia, we-" 

"Stop talking," I muttered against his lips. 

"But-" 

I shook my head as he pulled my closer to him. He rolled me onto my back and I laughed. Our kiss was on its way to getting passionate but was cut short with the sound of Connor crying from his bedroom. 

"Is this what it's gonna be like every time we start something?" Joe asked before getting off me and putting on a pair of boxers. 

"You're a father now, Joseph. It's part of what children will do during these kind of moments," I smiled as he walked out the room. 

Sighing once he left, I got up out the bed and walked into the en-suite bathroom to have a shower.

Joe's POV

I walked into Connor's bedroom and picked him up out the cot. 

"Hey, little man. What's with all the fuss today?" I asked him as he began to calm down. I smiled at him when he looked at the doorway for Mia. "Mummy's not up yet but maybe we should go and get her up." 

I lightly kissed the side of his head as I carried him towards his walk-in wardrobe. "But before we do that, we need to get you changed and dressed." 

I didn't spend long looking for something for him to wear today. I picked out a white baby grow, a pair of jeans and a dark blue top. I walked out and over to the changing table and put him down before I began to change him.

Once he was changed, I picked him back up and walked out the room to go back to the master bedroom. I walked into the master bedroom and saw Mia standing near the bed in a matching set of Victoria's Secret underwear. 

"That can't surely be for me," I winked at her as she pulled a pair of black jeans on. 

"Haha, very funny. Do you see me complaining with you in your boxers?" She replied, pulling her red top on an buttoning up the top two buttons. 

"Good point," I nodded, walking over to hand Connor over to her. "He's been changed. He only needs to be fed." 

"I'll do that the now,"she said, taking Connor out my arms and giving me a quick kiss. 

I smiled at her before she walked out the bedroom.

Normal POV

I walked into the kitchen with Connor and opened the fridge door. 

"Mia, have you put on weight?" I heard a female voice ask. 

I stopped what I was doing and leaned back a little to look at the female who just spoke. 

"What-? How the hell did you get in?" I asked Roshien as I closed the fridge door over. 

"When you left, Lisa got a key cut for me to be let in whenever I wanted. It wasn't to sleep with Joe, don't worry. We're best friends and there's rules for how far you can go with your friends partners," she answered, standing up. 

"And you're here today because?" 

"I heard you came back and I wanted to see how you were." She walked over to the sink and put her cup in it before turning to me. "Now, I'll ask again. Have you put on weight?"
