May 24th – 2 year anniversary

Normal POV

I woke up at 12pm with the sun shinning into the bedroom through the balcony doors and the windows. Smiling, I turn onto my left side and looked at Joe's pillow. I narrow my eyes slightly at the sight of a single red rose lying on top of the pillow with a card.

I sat up and reached for the rose and card with one hand. I let the rose fall from my hold and opened the card before starting to read it:

'Good morning, gorgeous.

By the time you read this, I'll be away but not for too long. I have arranged for someone to come to the island to give you a day of pampering.

You deserve it after all ;)

Love you,

Joe.

I smiled before placing the card down on the bed next to the rose. I pulled the covers back and got up out the warm comfortable bed and walked out onto the balcony, sitting down on one of the seats at the wicker table. I smiled to myself as I looked out to the sea.

It was so peaceful here and no one could bother you. I could do anything and not have to worry about pictures ending up in magazines, newspapers or even online. I heard my phone buzz from where it lay next to the bed and stood up.

Streching my arms above my head, I walked back into the bedroom to get my phone. Once in my hand, I looked down at the screen.

1 new message:

'Go down to the gazebo in back garden and have your spa day. I promise you, I'll see you later

xxxx'

What the hell is he playing at?

I quickly got changed and walked down to the back garden. As I reached the gazebo, I saw people standing waiting on me. When I approached them, they each smiled at me. This was going to be a long day.

Two hours later, I walked back up and into the house feeling a lot better about myself. I felt my phone buzz again from I put it in my pocket of my denim shorts and took it out to hold in my hand. I looked down at it with a smile on my face.

1 new message:

'Now that's done, go and get your hair and make-up done as I'm taking you out somewhere.

xxxx'

“Starting to annoy me, Joe.” I muttered as I walked up the stairs to the master bedroom.

I opened the doors and stopped dead in my tracks.

“What took you so long?” William asked me, walking over to where I stood and guiding me over to the chair by the vaity table.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, sitting down in the chair.

“I asked you first,” he retaliated quickly, picking up a pair of scissors.

“I was-”

“I'm only kidding. I knew where you were and to answer your question, is it not obvious? Your husband very kindly asked me to come to do your hair and make-up.”

“Why? I mean, I could've...”

“Mia, you haven't had your hair or make-up properly done since you fell pregnant with the twins. Let me do this,” he stated, looking at me via my reflection in the mirror.

“Okay, fine.”

I give up with today anyway. I hadn't seen Joe since last night and I just wanted to be close to him.

I had been sitting getting my hair and make-up done for almost two and a half hours now. This wasn't boring at all in a warm sunny place!

“If you're tired, let me know as I can just call your husband and tell him to cancel your night out.” William said, putting some hairspray on my hair.

“I'm fine,” I told him.

“Okay then. Ready?”

“Go for it.”

He stepped away from me and I looked in the mirror. Wow! He had pinned back two strands of my hair and pinned them togeter with a simple diamond hair piece. He also cut a side fridge in and made it sit just perfectly to the side of my face. The rest of my hair was simply curled and left to fall down my back. My make-up was kept simple - not too much as it had to accommodate the warm weather.

“Please tell me you like it,” William breathed, sounding worried.

I turned to look at him and smiled. “I love it.”

“Good,” he almost sighed in relief before starting to pack his things away.

He tided the area up before giving me a hug before he left. I walked over to the bed and sat down on it once he left. I sighed heavily before my phone buzzed for the third time today. I looked at the message that had come through:

'Time to get ready. Go into the wardrobe and you will see a dress hanging up in there for you to wear

xxxx'

I smiled before standing up and walking towards the walk-in wardrobe. I looked at the clothing rails and saw the dress he must have been talking about. It was a long white strapless chiffon dress that flared out halfway down the stomach. It had diamantés placed round the top of the bodice and then above where the dress began to flare out.

I smiled before I pulled it from its hanger and began to put it on.

I walked back out of the walk-in wardrobe half an hour later, all changed and ready to go, when I saw that there was now a big box laying on top of the bed.

“I've been in this room all this time and I didn't hear anyone come in!” I shout, walking over to the bed.

I looked down at the box and saw a card on top of it. I picked the card up and read it:

'In this box, lays four very important items. Each of which, you'll need for tonight.

1) You'll need your shoes, so I had Christian Louboutin make you a special pair for tonight.

2) I had a jewellery designer make you a diamond bracelet to wear.

3) I also had the same jeweller make you a set of diamond earrings to match the bracelet.

4) There is instructions as to what you've to do next.

See you soon

xxxx'

I lift the lid up off the box and looked at the items in it. I picked up my shoes and put them on. I then picked up the two boxes that contained the bracelet and earrings. I opened each of them and put the items on. Then it came to the last item in the box. The instructions.

I picked up the card and read what I had to do:

'Head towards the front of the house and follow the path down to the beach. I'll see you there.
