Joe's POV

I stood in front of the floor-length mirror fixing my tie as today was the day that Mia was going to court. She shouldn't have to be going through all this not when she's nearing the five months pregnant mark.

I looked at Mia as she came out of her walk-in wardrobe in her black trousers and white top. She walked over to the bed and sat down.

I turned to her. "What's wrong?"

"Huh? Nothing," she replied, trying to put her necklace on.

"Mia, tell me the truth." I said as I walked over to sit next to her.

"There's nothing...why won't this bloody thing go on!?!" She shouted in frustration.

"Here, I'll do it."

I took the necklace out her hands and she turned slightly to the side, lifting up her hair as she did so. I put the necklace round her neck, clasped either side together and she put her hair back down.

"Why does bad things always happen to me?" She asked.

"Mia..."

"No, I must deserve them to happen to me." She got to her feet once again and walked over to look out the window.

"Mia, you don't deserve bad things to happen to you. No one does," I reassured as I stood up and walked over to her. "Hey, look at me."

She turned slowly to me and I noticed that tears were starting to fall from her eyes. I wiped the tears away and she brought her hand up to rest on mine against her face.

"I could lose every thing if she gets her way," she confesses.

"You won't lose anything. You have the best lawyers that money can buy and them against her...she isn't going to win." I told her. She half smiled and I gave her a kiss. "Okay, we better get going."

"Okay."

I pulled away from her to pick my jacket up and put it over my arm. I reached my other hand out for her to take and she happily placed her hand in mine. We walked out the room and made our way downstairs.

We stopped at the bottom of the stairs as my mum came out of the play room with Connor in her arms.

"I just want to say good luck for today," she smiled as Connor looked at Mia.

"Luck has nothing to do with it mum. She didn't do any of it," I told her as I opened the front door.

I let Mia go out first then closed the door over. We walked over to my car and I opened the passenger door and helped Mia get in. I was about to shut the door over when she took my jacket off my arm and placed it round her stomach. I partly smiled at her and kissed the side of her bead before closing the door over. I walked over to the drivers side and got in the car. I looked at Mia before starting the car and she had her head resting on the window. Anything could happen today and it's all my fault.

Normal POV

We arrived at the court 45minutes after we left the house and already, we had driven into a media frenzy. Joe could barley drive the car as photographers came rushing over to get pictures. He seemed to be getting really annoyed by the second and at this point, I was too.

We managed to get into a parking space and security came rushing over to the car.

Joe got out the car and walked round to open the door for me. He helped me out as I held his jacket close to my body. I closed the car door and took Joe's hand before we were escorted into the building. I stayed as close as I could to Joe as we walked.

When we got in the building, I gave Joe his jacket back and we were greeted by my management team and lawyers.

"Maybe we should have arranged for you to have a police escort," Tina mentioned while looking out at the paparazzi.

"No jokes today. Please," I said to her.

"Okay," she replied.

"Mia, we don't really have time to go over what you're going to say but you should know as you're pleading not guilty." One of my lawyers spoke up.

I nodded and caught my big brothers eye as he stood near the court doors with Kim.

Lisa followed my gaze and looked back at me. "He'd never take her side."

"I know. She must have something on him then," I mutters, looking at the way Kim grasped Chad's arm while talking to her lawyers.

"I'll just find out for you." Tina walked away from us and took her phone out her bag.

"You do that," I nod before we were called to go into the court room.

Joe rested a hand on the base of my back and guided me towards the court room. I looked at him and smiled. We walked past Kim and her lawyers and she smirked at me.

"I don't see the point in here having so many lawyers if she isn't going to win," I heard her say.

"Leave it," Joe whispered to me as we walked into the court room.

I pulled away from him and he kissed the side of my head before I walked down with my lawyers to take my seat.
