Chapter 55

Normal POV

I wake up with my head on Joe's lap as he strokes my hair. I look up to him, smile then sit up. I rub my eyes and look round the room. "Where is she?"

"Ran out the house a few hours back," Connor answers, looking down at his phone.

"And none of you thought about going after her?"

"Mum, it goes to show that she can't handle anything that people say to her."

"I don't believe you two!" I shout, standing up and storming out the room.

"Mia..." Joe mutters before getting up and following me.

I walk into Lisa's office and she stops talking to a group of people that she was sending out to look for Emery, that were standing in front of her desk.

"Move," I instruct to her.

"Mia, what-" She starts.

"Move!" I shout before she gets up out her seat.

I sit down and turn to the computer screen. I start typing things and lots of different security screens and maps pop up on the screen.

"Mia, what are you doing?" Joe asks as he comes to stand behind me.

"The necklace Odette wears has a tracker in it. If she has left, I can track her down to where she is."

"Mia, doesn't Emery have one of those in her bracelet you put on her every day?" Tina asks, eyeing me closely for my reaction.

I look at her before it registers in my head. I quickly retype stuff on the computer and lots of different locations came up. Once more.

"Take your time," Joe breathes, resting his hands on my shoulders and squeezing them slightly.

I take a deep breath and type the information again. This time, only one location came up. I look at it then look up to Lisa. "Bingo."

I stand up and walk past everyone out the room with Joe following me.

"Mia, you can't drive in this state." Joe worries as we get outside and reach my car.

"I don't care what state I'm in. I want my baby back!" I snap, unlocking the car and opening the drivers door.

"Mia, stop." Joe commands, holding the door before I can get in. I look at him and huff. "I'll drive."

"Dad, is that even a good idea?" Connor asks from behind me as I walk round to the passenger side.

"Get in a car if you're coming," Joe says before getting in.

I set up the sat nav the same way I set up the computer to get the location as soon as Joe starts the car. I put my seat belt on and the car starts to go.

We drive for almost an hour before the sat nav tells us that we had reached the destination. A little impossible when we're in the middle of nowhere! Joe puts the lights on full beam and starts to drive slower. I look out the back window and see that everyone else is following close behind us.

"Mia, did you put I the right-" Joe starts.

"Stop!" I shout.

The car stops dead and I take my seat belt off.

"Mia, where are you going? Get back in the car."

I get out and look at the light that was in the distance. I take my phone out my pocket and turn on the torch that's on it. I start walking along the muddy road up to the light and I can hear everyone shouting on me to come back because I don't know what I was getting myself in for. But I didn't care.
