Joe's POV

The ambulance arrived quite soon after Mia had passed out but that may be because I told them who she was and that she was pregnant. I called my parents and told them what happened and also Roshien so she could watch Connor. Roshien turned up to the house when Mia was being taken into the ambulance and explained that she was on her to see Mia anywy. Hence, why she got here so quicky.

I was asked if I wanted to travel n the ambulance with Mia and didn't consider anything else as I climbed in and sat down with Mia's hand in mine.

When we arrived at the hospital, Mia was quickly wheeled into theatre but no one told me why.

"Is she going to be okay?" I asked the doctor.

"We won't know until we check her over," he told me.

"What about the babies?" I asked, getting more worried by every passing second.

"Mr. Hart, please let us do our job. We'll let you know soon enough," he calmly explained before running down the hall after Mia.

I clasped my hands together and placed them behind my head as I looked down the corridor to where they had taken Mia. Nothing seemed to be going right for her lately. I sat down on the nearest chair and rested my elbows on my knees. Someone must really hate us to put us through all this hurt and pain.

I'd been sitting for just over an hour when I heard people running towards me. I looked up to see who it was and sighed.

"Joseph..." My mum breathed, giving me a hug as I stood to greet her and my dad. "How's Mia and the babies?"

"I don't know. They won't tell me anything!" I shouted, falling back down to sit on the chair I was sitting on and breaking down in tears. My mum sat down next to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "I can't lose any of them...they're my life."

"Joseph, Mia's strong. She pulled through..." My dad started.

"This is different!" I shouted at him.

"Joseph, I know you're..." he started.

"No, you don't! You don't know how I'm feeling. No one does. My wife is..." I started to shout.

"She'll be fine," I heard a doctor say.

I turned round and looked at him.

"Is..." I started, rising to my feet quickly.

"I'm going to keep her in until she gives birth which should be any day now," he told me.

"What made her..."

"It was her bodies way of telling her that it can't take all the extra weight. If she isn't in labour by Saturday, we're going to have to give her a caesarean." He stated. "We're only thinking of your wife right now, Mr. Hart. When she wakes up, we'll talk things over with her. If she wants to have the babies naturally, we'll do that but we wouldn't recommend it."

"O-okay," I stuttered. "Can I go and see her?"

"You can but she's not awake."

"I don't care. I just want to be with her," I said.

"Follow me," he instructed, walking down the long corridor.

I followed him: turning a few corners before coming to a stop when we were outside Mia's room. He opened the door for me and I went in. I looked at Mia lying on the bed and it made my heart break to think that she ended up in here all because of me.

I walked over to the seat that was next to the bed and pulled it over as close to the bed as possible before sitting on it. I took Mia's hand in mine and looked up to her face.
