Joe's POV
I had been in the bath with Mia for about an hour now and she cried the whole time. I didn't know what to do other than try to comfort her the best I could. I looked at my watch and thought that it was best to get out and dried off before walking down to the jet.
“Mia, we need to get out and get changed if we're going to leave here.” I said, looking down at her.
She nodded a little and sat up. I reached over for a towel and stood up. I put it round my waist and reached out for another one. I held it in my left hand and reached down for Mia's hand to help her to her feet.
When she stood up, I put the towel round her body and stepped out the bath. I turned back to her and pulled her into my arms. I carried her out into the bedroom and sat her on the bed. I walked back into the en-suite and drained the water before walking back out to Mia.
I sat down next to her on the bed and held her left hand in my right hand. I looked down at her new wedding ring and saw the scrapes over the diamonds. I loosened my grip on her hand and slid the ring off her finger. I sat it on the chest of drawers at the side of the bed before reaching into the first drawer for her actual wedding ring. I slid it onto her finger and now held her hand in my left hand so I could pull her close to my side with my right hand.
I kissed the side of her head as she rested her head on my shoulder. My phone began to ring at the side and I looked at it. I let go of Mia and reached over for it. Before I answered it, Mia moved to lay down in the middle of the bed. I half smiled at her before answering the phone.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Hi, Joe. How is she?” Lisa asked.
“Not good. She's just out the bath and is back to lying on the bed again,” I told her.
“Well everything is all set for the two of you to leave to go back...” She started.
“Lisa, my parents have taken the children to Barbados. We'll have to go there and get them if we're going to go home."
“Joe, I think your main priority right now is Mia.”
“I'm not going to take her home without our children. We'll go and get our children and then we'll go home,” I half shouted, ending the call.
I looked over at Mia before standing up and going to get ready.
I walked out of my walk-in wardrobe 10 minutes later in my fresh jeans and a grey top. I looked over at the bed and Mia was still laying there. I walked into her walk-in wardrobe and got some clothes and underwear out for her. I picked out her black shorts and a white top along with some Victoria's Secret underwear.
Sighing to myself, I walked out and over to the bed.
I sat Mia's stuff on the bed before I reached over for her. I pulled her off the bed and started to get her ready. No words were exchanged. Everything stayed silent.
After I got her ready, I went into the en-suite bathroom and began to pack away our things.
I had just zipped up Mia's make-up case when I heard her scream. I rushed out the en-suite and my eyes widened at the sight of a different man lying on top of her, trying to get her clothes off. I ran over to the bed and pulled the man away from her.
Mia sat up as far as she could on the bed, crying her eys out once more. I looked at the man that was lying on the floor looking at her. I walked over to him and pulled him to his feet.
“What the hell do you think you're doing?” I asked him, holding the sides of the shirt he wore.
“She's Mia Halliwell,” he answered with a smile on his face.
“I know she is and she's also my wife!” I shouted, slamming the man against the wall.
“I need to have her,” he said, trying to move me out the way.
I slammed him against the wall again. “Who the hell do you think you are?”
“I need her,” he muttered, his eyes full of hunger for my wife.
“You ain't getting anywhere near her!” I growled before pulling him out the room.
“We can have a little game together. The three of us,” he mentioned, smiling like it was okay to hurt Mia.
I dragged him down the stairs and towards the front door.
“If I ever see your face again, I'll kill you.” I warned before opening the door and throwing him out to the police officers that stood outside the door.
They looked at the man before looking up at me.
“You lot call yourselves police? I fucking doubt it!” I hissed before slamming the door over.
I took a deep breath and looked up at the top of the stairs and saw Mia standing. She was quietly sobbing and I ran up the stairs to her. When I reached the top, I pulled her into my arms and she cried her heart out.
What the hell was up with everyone near this fucking place?
