She had just come back from the kitchen with a hand full of cookies and as she was walking she overheard a new herd member talking about her. She listened quietly as he talked loudly and in an angered tone. Slowly she hid behind a wall that blocked her from their view.
She had talked to him before. They had met outside
"Who does he think he is?" His voice getting louder and louder as he passionately talked about the subject. "Telling me not to talk to that hot chick. Like who does that? He is not even her mate!" She could tell that he was pacing, by the subtle thump of footsteps.
"Well, alpha says that to everyone," a new voice chimed in. "It did not help that you were flirting with her. He is very protective of her, you know."
"Whatever, he still did not have to threaten to kick me out of the herd." His voice was strong and fierce.
Emma's heart stopped when she heard those words. She had just found out the reason that people avoided her for years. Kaden had threatened them. Threatened to kick them out of the herd if the talked to her. That just broke her heart.
"Why? Why would he do this to me? I... I trusted him." She whispered to her self as she ran to his room to confront him.
Kaden and Emma's bond was strange and unnatural. He has made a forced bond. Almost like he forced a mate bond. Some of the herd members had seen Emma's and Kaden's bond growing for a few years and became worried. They had brought their worries to the herd elders and expressed how this could create problems. The elders found it strange but they let them be. They thought that if he loves Emma so much to make his own mate bond then it was not worth breaking it.
They were in his room. She had busted through the doors after she had found out. He had a large room at the end of the hallway. His walls were painted a grey color that brightens up the room. Emma loved his room. The size of it. The big windows. His scent that covered the walls. She just loved it.
"How could you do this to me, Kaden! You lied to me!" Emma yelled at Kaden, a line of tears dripped down her face.
"How the hell didn't you find out?! Who told you?!" Kaden yelled deranged.
Kaden still had a way with Emma she could never be mad at him for too long but this... this was unforgivable!
"It doesn't matter!" Emma yelled, more tears ran down her face. "You... You." Emma walked over to his bed and sat on the edge. She covers her face with her hands. "This hurts so bad! I was so lonely whenever you left! And now I know I didn't have to go through that! Why Kaden! Why!"
Emma looked into his eye. They were still mesmerizing to her and she felt sparks under his touch, like a mate. But they were full with fear of losing his love and angry that she found out. And regret that he did it.
Kaden love her so much. He did want anyone else to be with her or take any time away from him. So he threatened them.
He moved closer to her. "I'm sorry Emma. I'm sorry! I was just trying to protect you!" She looked at him with anger.
"I don't need your protection! I needed a friend!" She cried. Her sobs got louder and more radical.
He walks up and wrapped his arms around her body.
