8. Her Brother

After Emma's encounter with the fox boy, her and Coda when back to camp. They spent most of the day getting to know each other. Coda cooked up a veggie soup for Emma, that she eat for all of her meals. Then at the end of it, where snuggled up to each other. Emma in Coda's arms in his tent.

When Coda woke up Emma was no longer beside him. He look around to find Emma sitting on one of the loges that surrounded the fire pit. Just like the morning before. But, she was facing the opposite way of the pit and was facing her brother. He had various cuts and gashes. He deserves all of them. The cuts hadn't heal over and blood gushed out of every cut, down his face. They where newly clean. Emma must of clean them. He was tied to a tree with his arm wrapped around the trunk. His legs were tied around his ankles. He was still sleeping uncomfortable and Emma had her face buried in her hands. Coda could tell that she was crying. Her hair was a mess and face was red when she looked up at him for a second. He could feel her pain.

"He was the worst brother." Emma said. She didn't bother look at him for a second time. All of her attention was on Caleb. Coda walk over and sit beside her. "After his mate die in a wolf attack he turned mean, aggressive. He hit me and smacked me until I would bleed. Sometimes he would lock me in a dark room. It was so cold and stuffy. It was so hard to breathe." She look at Coda through her eye lashes. They where blood shot and puffy. She had a sad expression on her face. "But, for some reason I still love him." Coda tried to Comfort her but, she slapped his hand away.

Coda couldn't believe what Caleb when through. Having his mate die. Unbelievable. He couldn't believe what it would be like to loose Emma. He could already feel the never ending rage and sadness build up in his chest making it tighten. He let out a breath that had caught when Emma's words left her mouth. But, he had no pity for the man in front of him. He loathed him. The pain he put Emma through was enough to only ignite anger.

"Emma why? Why this mutt? When you can have the alpha!" Coda looked up at Caleb and growl however, couldn't move because Emma had grabbed his hand, locking him in place. There was something about Caleb that made Coda a little scared. He all ways had a sinister look on his face. however, he would take him on in a fight if he need to. "Why?" She screamed. Her face turned from sorrow to pure anger. "Why!" She walked up to him. She came face to face. Her face and eyes full of hate. "To get away from you! And to be with someone how actually cares! The Alpha needs to forget about me!" She screamed in his face. The intense emotions hurt her chest and pushed the feeling to flee. So she ran to the forest. Tears fell down her face. She had a lot of mixed emotions. She loved him but hated his guts.

Coda start to ran after her but stop when Caleb yelled. "Alpha will find her and she fall in love with him again!" He said laughing. Coda waited for a second think what to do. Question Caleb or chase after his mate that was getting farther and farther away. But, chased after her. She was more important then this scum.

Coda's wolf growled. He was furious and wanted answers. His wolf love her deer more then anything. He would do anything for he just as like Coda. Even kill him self to save her. He did care that she wasn't a wolf. He just wanted to love her and her to feel safe in his arms. If he had his way she would be safe and they would have a family and grow old with each other. He wanted what she wanted. Nothing compares to her. Nothing.

Crying filled his ears. He could fell her pain through the mate bond. He couldn't bear the pain that was flowing through their very strong and sensitive bond. Since yesterday they spent the whole day together, their bond had strengthened. "Emma!" He yelled frantically, as he ran through the forest. The path was clear where Emma had been. Her scent was strong and fresh.

I should of killed that shit of a brother when I had that chance. He yelled to himself. But, on the other hand Caleb was opening up things the he didn't know about Emma. Things they needed to talk about. He wanted to know who this Alpha was to Emma and why she would run back to him.

jealousy flustered him. Made his hands ball up in anger. He pushed it down and tried to wait until Emma explained.

Emma was sitting against the side of a tree when he found her. He knelt down in fount of her small broken body. Her cheeks where stain with her tears. "He hurt me" her eyes where more blood shot from she crying. Brushing his hand through her hair, he shushed her. "It will be ok." He said bringing her body closer to his. She cried in pain in his lap. It affected him seeing her like this. All she did was cry and wheeze for the pain to stop as she clung to Coda's strong body.

"It's ok. I'm here. Calm down. Just take deep breaths." He said to her over and over. "It's ok baby." He said running her fingers in her brown hair. Her tears ran down her face on to the grass. "I'm so sorry." She said as he place a kiss her forehead. Tears ran down his face.

"There's nothing to be sorry for." They spent an hour in that position. Her in his lap as he held her close.

All she could do was numb the pain by sleeping.
