"Please Caleb, let him go he is just a child," Emma yelled frantically. Her eyes were wide and her body tense as she sat on the window sill.

She had only caught a glimpse of the boy as he opened the door of her room before he yanked away. Caleb had the boy by the neck and against the wall. Jack's face was scrunched and his eyes wild as his air was being cut off by the monster in front of him. His small body flailed as he tried to get out of his grip.

"Caleb!" Emma rushed up grabbing on to his arm trying to break the young boy free. Caleb flung his arm back, throwing Emma back into the wall with a loud 'thud'.

A loud growl quieted the boy's whines.

"Let him go, Caleb." Coda hollered as he stocked closer to him. His fist tight in balls and his face was a new shade of red.

"And why should I?" A big cocky smile was plastered to his face as he turned slightly towards Coda.

He growled again and threw a punch at Caleb causing him to let go of the boy. As he did he fell to a heap on the ground as the two muscly men threw punch after punch over his head. As he tried to catch his breath, he was pulled from the fight by Emma small hands.

She gripped the small boy to her chest, afraid if she let go he would somehow be pulled back into the fight.

Coda had been hit pretty bad in the cheek as well as Caleb the eye. Not soon later the both shifted.

Emma pulled Jack down the hall out of the way of the flying teeth and antlers as the two beasts attacked each other.

"We need to get out of here," Emma whispered in horror. The fox boy got up and pulled her the way he thought was the way out. But, when they made it to the main doors they could see that the battle had moved closer to the main house.

Deer and wolves were at each other's throats.

The air was cold and thick. Fear ran down Emma's spine as she tried to recover from the shock.

It was dusk. The colors in the sky shined bright and it was hard at this moment, a war was going on a few feet head of her. Howls and cries cut though the mostly silent night.

Jack tugged her to the forest, the opposite direction of the fight.

"Come on. They will spot us soon," Emma looked at all the death and pain that she fled from. She felt guilty as the boy pulled farther away.

She was the one who caused this. She was the one who led Coda here and she was the foolish one to think that loving Kaden was the right thing.

Jack's hands were sweaty on Emma's and his breaths came out as hot puffs of air. Emma knew that his only priority was to get her somewhere safe that they could hide out for a few hours until some one got them.

She felt tears welled up as they ran and she pulled her hand out of his.

"I can't do this." She paused and looked down at her bare feet that were now caked with dirt.

"I can't run when people are fighting for their lives out there." She pointed in the direction they just came from. Her face was grim and the boy stood still. Like he could not believe what he was hearing.

"What are you talking about?" He asked. "The only reason we are even out here is to get you. The more we wait means there are more that die. You would be putting everything we worked for in vain." His voice was strong, knowing he can not lose this battle with her.

"They are being killed! How can you say that?" She yelled back.

"Don't speak too loud." He said back more quietly. By, this time they had been in one spot for ten minutes. Someone could already be on their trail.

"I going back." She stated firmly. But, as she started to walk away Jack grabbed her hand.

"Don't..." was all he could get out before a buck jumped out and gripped Emma's arm in his antlers. She screamed loudly as they pierced her arm and went deeper in her flesh.

Jack had shifted into his red fox and jumped on the large light brown deer.

Tho, he was small he could still fight and he knew to go into this fight that he was not going to make it out. Emma knew that too.

He bit the deer's neck trying to get the jugular. The buck whined and at that time Emma was able to pull her arm away from sharp objects that had just caused her arm much damage.

The bucked twisted trying to get the little fur ball off his back. Jack dug his teeth father into the deer's neck and not soon after Emma had shifted. She ran at him slightly limping. But, she was still able to hit him enough to throw him back.

Jack was able to jump off just as Emma attacked and ran that the dazed deer. The small fox grabbed the deer by the throat and bit down. The buck struggled for a few seconds before the life drained from his eyes. Blood started to pool that the fox's feet turning his red coat a deeper shade of red.

Jack whimpered at what he had just done. Emma still in her deer form lightly nudged the fox. Trying to comfort the small animal.

Another sound was heard in the distance and was come fast. That put both fox and deer on high alert. The foot steps came closer and closer until the deer appeared on the scene and ran at the fox. Emma blocked his way but, ended up being thrown into a tree. She squealed and pain flowed through her back.

The buck turned his attention on the small fox boy. He ran at him catching his small boy on his antlers. Going through his body. Blood dripped down from the now lifeless body of Jack as he shifted back.

"Nooo!" Emma screamed as the body was dropped on to the ground with a thump. She ran up and put his head on her legs.

The buck turned but didn't much time before he was shot through the head.
