Coda's eye slowly opened with a loud yawn. He groaned as the light hit his eyes through the partly unzipped 'door' of the tent. He felt a small warm body lock tightly around his. He felt calm and at peace, compared to last night. Went he looked down to his surprise, it was Sandra. She had snuggle up to him during the night. He tried to pry her off but she had a strong hold. Her feet where at his face. She doesn't wear shoe and her feet were black with dirt. Coda choked at the smell.

"Sandra! Sandra!" He whisper. A small growl escaped her mouth. Then, she unconsciously move and kick him in the face. Leaving a dark foot print on his face. "So gross." He said he wiped the dirt off his face with the sleeve of his sweater he had changed into last night. When he got out of her grip he ran out of the tent and took a big breath of fresh air.

Sandra never cleans her tent so the floor is just blankets and pillows and since the twins give her every thing she wants she had a bounteous collection of toys.

The crisp air rush through his hair and the smell from the burn out fire pit filled his nose. The bird were singing their morning song and their baby's cry for food. The leave sounded like waves crashing against the sand and they moved like jello in the wind.

Coda walked over to Emma who was sitting on a log that was close to the fire. Jess, Coda's mother laugh at something Emma had said and placed her hand on her shoulder. But, as her hand made contact with her she flinched away. Jess just shook it off however Coda made a mental note to ask her about it later. Emma was now dress in leggings and a sweater with some boots that Jess had let her use.

"Oh, Coda! Your up." His mum yelled from her place beside Emma. She had a great big smile on her face as she looked at Coda then back to Emma. "Hi mom. Where is everyone else?" He asked as he sat beside Emma. Automatically he slouched and rested his arms on his knees.  "Oh." She waved her hand at him. "They just caught the deer from last night and are tying him up. He got pretty far away from camp. After two hours of running your father sent most of us back to camp." She smile to try to make the situation lighter, seeing as Emma shifted uncomfortably. "They will be back at midnight to night. I was pretty surprised that he could get so far with that bad leg"

"Yeah." Coda agreed. The three sat in silents for a while. The birds sang and the sun was coming up. It was going to be a hot day.

"So Coda." Jess said turning to look at Coda. "Emma told me that she learned a lot about plant and which ones are good to eat. I was thinking that you two could go out to get something for Emma to eat since we don't really have anything for her to eat here." He looked at Emma to see what she though about it. But, she was too caught up in watching the fire, her mind wondering.

He got up from the log and held out his hand for her. "Come on." He said with a smirk. She shook off her daydream and took Coda's hand. Her cheeks burned bright red. When he pulled her up from her seated position, he did not let go of her hand. Even after she was fully standing. They walked hand in hand to the forest. Emma did not mind them holding hands. It felt very nice to have his large, warm hand engulf her small, cold one.

"So..." He started as they hiked on a invisible path that seamed only Coda knew. "Tell me about yourself."

Emma let out a soft giggle. "There is not much to talk about." Her eyes wondered off to the trees, trying out avoid any and all of his questions. He sighed and they both when back to silents.

Not long after, Coda pulled Emma into a field of unknown flora. Slowly, she let go of his hand and walked towards a couple of plants. One, Coda could identify as mint. Another one Emma picked up and sniffed. "What is that?" He asked looked over her shoulder. "Basil." Was all she said as she turn. "Their is not much to eat here."

"I know. There is some veggies back at camp. Mother keeps buying them but, no one eats veggies." He laughs. But, Emma cringes from the thought of the pack members eating venison. It's the one thing Emma hated about this pack. Their diet. "Here I will go back and get something better for you to eat." Coda walked back to camp leaving Emma in the field. Alone. She picked up a berry she has never seen before. It was shiny and black. She plucked it from the plant and held it up to the sun.

"I wound't eat that if I were you." A voice yelled from above. Not soon after a small boy with orange hair came down the tree. He looked as if he had scaled the tree a thousand times. "That's a nightshade berry." He stated running a hand through his hair. "They will kill you." his face blank.

"Oh." Emma said as she held the berry. "I'm not from around here. I don't know the flora around here. It's funny what a couple miles can do." She giggled as she threw the black ball.

"The names Jack." The boy said and stuck his hand out to shake. Emma looked at his freckled face. He had big brown eyes. "I'm a fox shifter if you hadn't figured out yet." He smiled. Emma shook his hand and said in return "Emma, Deer shifter." His face when to smiley to shocked.

"Oh, I have never meet a deer shifter." He eyes open wide.

"Well I'm glad I'm your first." She smiled. He had a face the you just trust and he looked so young.

Coda's loud foot steps made Jack perk up. "I got to go." He waved to Emma as he dashed off.
