Momo and I headed out, and this time went left instead of right from the hotel. Everything appeared to be nice and new, but it was all eerily quiet.

"Kazuki..." Momo suddenly spoke while we walked together.

"Yeah?" I urged, waiting for her to go on.

"How long do you think we'll be trapped here?" Momo asked, her face holding a worried expression.

I paused for a moment before responding. "I... I don't know." Seeing Momo's frightened look, I quickly added, "but I'm sure we'll find a way out! We'll leave here together."

"Together..." Momo trailed off, then looked up, her blue eyes meeting my brown ones. "Promise?"

"Promise." I agreed, though my mind was clouded with doubt. Is that really a promise I can keep?

After exploring everything the city had to offer with Momo, and seeing there were in fact electric fences surrounding the city, I was soon dragged off by Ichiro and Akio. They had brought me to the skatepark, saying something about me needing to see their moves. Honestly, I couldn't care less, but I still went along with them.

I was more focused on a few of the electric fences I had seen before. Yes, they were surrounding the city, but some of them appeared to only be blocking individual streets. It made me wonder, is there still part of the city we don't have access to?

"Hey, Kazuki, you listening?" Akio asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, yeah, sorry..." I replied. "Could you uh... repeat that?"

"We were just saying we found this old shed that's full of bikes, scooters, skateboards, you name it!" Ichiro exclaimed excitedly.

"So we were able to actually use this skatepark!" Akio continued for him.

"Oh, nice." I responded, trying to sound interested.

"We wanted to get an outside opinion before showing off." Ichiro stated.

"Showing off...?" I asked, slightly confused.

Ichiro nodded. "Yeah! To the ladies~."

It was hard to hold back the sigh and eye roll, but I somehow managed.

"Especially Mai- have you seen that body?" Akio added. Of course, being the ultimate soccer player, Mai was in good shape, but I didn't think much of it. Ichiro and Akio apparently had been smitten with her... can't say I'm surprised.

"Well, I'm sure whatever you do will be impressive... I mean, you're the ultimate cyclist and ultimate skateboarder." I pointed out.

Even after saying that, I was forced to watch them preform.

A few days had passed, and there was still no sign of an escape. It was early morning, and I had just arrived at the hotel restaurant and taken my seat next to Momo. I had been spending most of my time with her, and hadn't really gotten a chance to really get to know the others... not that I minded, Momo turned out to be a fun and supportive friend.

Almost everyone had arrived, but it seemed to me that some people were missing. After a few minutes, the doors to the restaurant bursted open. I quickly looked up to see Mai, and she looked absolutely horrified.

She was shaking, her curly brown hair falling out of her ponytail. Her eyes were wide, and when she opened her mouth, no words formed. Everyone was looking at her, but no one said a word.

Soon, Mai was able to speak, and her words brought murky feeling of despair.

"Ichiro's dead!"
