"I swear, I-I didn't write that letter- I've never even seen it!" Mai stated with a shocked, fearful expression.

"We can't know for sure, but your name is clearly there." Kaiya responded.

"This matches up perfectly!" Natsumi exclaimed. "At approximately 6:00am, Katashi saw Mai heading back to her room-"

"I didn't see her." Katashi corrected. "I heard her. I looked out of my room because I heard someone shuffling around, and when I asked who was there, I heard Mai apologize and say that everything was fine."

"B-but, I didn't leave my room all night!" Mai looked at everyone frantically. "Y-you don't think I actually..."

"I will admit, it's a bit strange." Michio pointed out. "Mai being the killer would just be too obvious... you'd have to be pretty stupid to be caught so easily."

"I know it was Mai's voice I heard, it sounded exactly like her." Katashi responded.

"You used Ichiro's crush on you against him, didn't you?!" Akio accused, pointing at Mai. "Of course he'd meet you at such an odd time without question!"

"I'd never do that! Ichiro was a good person, he didn't deserve that." Mai's eyes began to grow watery. "W-wait, did you say... he had a crush on me?"

"That doesn't matter now- he's dead and you did it!" Akio exclaimed.

"OBJECTION!"

All eyes fell on Satchiko, who was quiet for a moment before letting out a small giggle. "Sorry, I've always wanted to say that."

"Do you have anything to add, or are you just wasting time?" Jikkō asked with a somewhat harsh tone.

Satchiko appeared unfazed. "I do! Mai can't be the culprit, she has an alibi!"

Mai quickly nodded, wiping her eyes. "Y-yeah, that's right!"

"Willow slept in her room last night, and neither of them left until the morning announcement." Satchiko explained.

"That's right." Willow stated. "She told me she was scared something might happen, so I stayed with her. Looks like she was right."

"Maybe she snuck out, and you didn't notice!" Akio suggested.

"She didn't. I woke up at around six and she was still sleeping." Willow explained, "Mai is not the killer."

Mai let out a small sigh of relief, and gave Willow a grateful look.

"So... maybe the killer tried to frame Mai." I suggested, "I mean, if what Akio said was true and Ichiro did have a crush on Mai, he'd definitely go if he thought it was her...."

"Finally, someone's catching on." Jikkō said.

I looked at her, slightly surprised. "Wait, you knew Mai was innocent? Why didn't you say anything?"

Jikkō let out a small sigh. "If I just told you everything, you wouldn't believe me. You need to figure it out yourself."

"Wait, you know every-" before I could finish, Michio cut me off.

"Sounds fair enough. I mean, what's the fun in just being told who did it?" He simply stated with a shrug.

"F-fun?" Momo spoke up, her voice shaking. "Y-you think this is fun? Someone died!"

Michio looked to Momo, holding his same, nonchalant expression. "Hey, miss Fujikawa, don't you think it's a little strange that Katashi heard Mai's voice exactly?"
