As my group entered the hotel, I realized that Momo's group was the only other group back yet. I looked at the voice actress from across the room as our group members exchanged polite conversation.
Her pastel pink hair was in low pigtails and went down to her waist, as her bangs perfectly framed her round face. Her bright blue eyes stood out to me, and her short white dress emphasized her innocent look. She had white flats to match, along with black tights with white spots. She was short, even for a girl, and looked too young to be in high school. I knew better though- she was the same age as me.
I badly wanted to approach her- after all, I had supported her work for years- but I couldn't bring myself to. Damn, I probably would seem like some obsessed fanboy, which wasn't far from the truth.
To my shock, Momo walked up to me with a small smile on her face. "Hey... you're Kazuki Nozomi, right?" She asked.
"O-oh, yeah, that's me..." I replied, even more surprised that she had remembered my name.
"Well... sorry if this sounds weird, but..." Momo hesitated for a moment before blurting it out. "I'm a really big fan of yours! Your writing style is just so captivating, and I especially love how well you pull off the action scenes in your books, and..." She stopped herself, giggling slightly. "Sorry, it's just... I'm so happy to finally be able to meet you in person!"
Words cannot describe how surprised I was. Momo Fujikawa... is a fan of mine?
"Really?" I automatically responded with, then shook my head. "Wow, I just... never expected this. I mean, I'm a big fan of yours as well! Your performances are just amazing, and what you can do with your voice is unbelievable...."
Momo's smile grew, and I couldn't help smiling myself. "Hey, Kazuki, let's just forget this whole fan thing and just be friends!"
I nodded, this amazing feeling growing inside of me. "Sure, I'd like that."
I felt a pair of eyes on me, so I glanced to the side to see Riku was looking at me. His cheeks went red, and he pulled up the hood of his light blue hoodie, a bit of his darker blue hair still peeking out. He scribbled something in a notebook, pushing up his glasses. I thought he was acting a little strange, but I brushed it off.
Soon, the rest of the students had returned to the hotel lobby, and everyone sat with their groups. Haru was the first to speak up, brushing some of his black hair to the side.
"Alright, so one person from each group can tell the rest of us what you found. Who wants to go first?" Haru asked, looking around.
"I'll go!" Mai volunteered eagerly. "We just explored the hotel. There's a restaurant in here with tons of food, and Monokuma told us it's restocked every day."
"Yeah, he just popped out of nowhere, and then after he was just gone!" Momo explained. "It was pretty weird."
"Oh and that's not all we found!" Mai continued, "there was also a bunch of rooms upstairs with our names and pixel art portraits. I guess that's where we're expected to sleep. I think that's it...."
Ichiro spoke up next, an excited look on his face. "We found a skatepark!"
"Really?!" Akio responded, looking just as excited.
"Yeah! If only I had my bike." Ichiro let out a small sigh.
"That's not the important park, Ichiro." Willow stated, and her snake let out a dissatisfied hiss, as if it it were agreeing with her.
"Yeah... that's right..." Katashi muttered, his voice barely audible.
"Oh right! We found this huge electric fence thing!" Ichiro stated. "We guessed that's what's keeping us here."
"We saw something like that too." Jikkō added. "We didn't find anything too useful. Just a weapon store and what looked like a convenience store."
"There were tons of weapons there though, more than you can imagine!" Orochi exclaimed. "Guns, hunting knives, swords, everything!"
"It wasn't that big though." Jikkō stated. "It's probably just here to aid anyone stupid enough to listen to that bear."
"That makes sense, people need weapons to kill." Michio pointed out. "Our group didn't find much, just a mall. Nothing special about it."
"We found a bar! There was tons of alcohol and everything!" Satchiko exclaimed. "It looked pretty nice, but I doubt we'll go there much... I mean, with us being underage and all."
"We also saw some of those electric fences. It seems like they're surrounding the city. Also, there's security cameras and tvs on the walls everywhere." Jirou added. "We really are trapped here."
"Shit... so this is really real? It isn't all a prank?" Ichiro said, hand in his red hair. "We... we really have to kill each other?"
"I'm sure we'll find a safe way out! We just have to work together!" Satchiko exclaimed.
Before anyone could say more, the tv above the front desk came to life. On it displayed Monokuma, who appeared to be sitting in some kind of desk chair. "It is now 10pm, as such, it is officially night time. The restaurant doors will soon be locked until morning. Good night, don't let the bed bugs bite!" As soon as he was done speaking, the tv switched off.
With a sigh, I followed everyone upstairs. Though I really didn't want to sleep here, it had been a long day, and some rest would be appreciated.
Finding the door with my name and picture, I walked inside.
