Once again, everyone climbed into the elevator, even less people than before. We were now half of the students who had arrived here. Half of us were already dead.
The elevator sank into the ground, as did my hope. We hadn't gotten nearly enough time to investigate... would this be the end for us? Would we be able to uncover the killer?
As soon as we got to the bottom and the doors opened, Jikkō stomped out, heading straight for Monokuma. She stopped in front of him, glaring down at the bear menacingly.
"You didn't give us enough time. By now I only narrowed my suspicions down to two people, we didn't gather enough evidence." She said, arms crossed and a threatening tone to her voice. "I can always guess the culprit before a trial. Why did you start so soon?"
The rest of us made our way to our spots, but I knew that we were really all watching Jikkō confronting the bear. Wait, she guesses the murderer every time?
I couldn't say I was surprised, after all, she was the only one of us experienced in this field, and the only professional killer. But the fact that she let us struggle when she knew all the answers... I couldn't help but grow suspicious.
"It's no fun if you know who did it!" Monokuma responded. "I want to see your despair as well, so a shorter investigation time was perfect!"
Before the assassin could respond, Monokuma jumped to his seat, leaving Jikkō to reluctantly take her place as well.
"Now, let the fourth class trial begin!" Monokuma exclaimed.
Everyone was silent for a moment, so I decided to speak up and get things started. Who knows, Monokuma might end up shortening our time here as well. "Well, we can at least be sure of the murder weapon."
"Of course. It was still in him." Jikkō responded.
"But no one has an alibi!" Natsumi stated. "How the fuck will we find out who the killer is? It could be anyone!"
"Not anyone." Michio replied, "We found a few strands of blond hair. That makes it me, you, or Satchiko."
"Not me!" Satchiko exclaimed. "My hair's pinkish, the hair we found was pure blond!"
"Michio or Natsumi. One of you two is the killer." Jikkō said.
Katashi then spoke up. "How would they get into Riku's room though? I mean, I never saw either of them really hanging out with him...."
A thought immediately came to my mind that I just couldn't push away. I knew one of them could get into Riku's room... but could I really call them out?
I took a deep breath, looking to the boy I had recently grown closer to, hoping that I was wrong, and there was some other explanation.
"Michio... you can pick locks, right?"
