Chapter Five

The next morning I’m awaken from a dream by my alarm clock. Instead of the nightmare, Si’las was there. I finally had broken up with Logan and got together with Si’las. But that dream will probably never come true.

After I’m ready I head downstairs. “Hey Skylar. Today we have to take separate cars. I’m brining Matt home.”

“OK, no problem.” I say grabbing my keys and heading out towards my car. Normally when Josh and I take separate cars, I let Karly and Emily know so they can come. But not today. Lately Karly seems a little more bossy and Emily seems a little more quiet and not around. It’s just not the same vibe I used to get from them. I pull into the school and notice that the black limo is there. I park and quickly get out of the car. I really need to reassure Si’las.

I scan the halls for him. But he is probably at his locker. I just hope Mary is not there. I see Si’las trying to hurry up and put his stuff in his locker. He is trying to avoid me. “Hi Si’las. I’m not mad about yesterday.” I say in a low voice.

“I’m sorry I shouldn’t have done that. I didn’t mean to get ahead of myself.”

“It's okay. Math class starts in ten minutes, want to walk there with me?” He agrees and we head there. It’s weird, every since Logan and me been dating, he has always walked me to class. The last two days, Si’las has. And for some reason I want him to walk, change it up a bit.

As soon as we walk through the math door, I notice Logan is there and texting someone. My phone hasn’t gone off, and what is he doing here so early? “Oh hey.”He says looking up, then looking funny at Si’las. “I thought you only had to show him around for two days?”

“Yes, but I didn’t see you around, so I asked him. I can be friends with the both of you guys.”

“That’s the thing, I’m not a friend, and I’m a boyfriend. And if I don’t want you to hang around someone, then you shouldn’t.”

“You can’t just tell me who I can and can’t hang around. You’re not my parent.”

“Whatever. Oh and tell your brother that if he ever does that again, he will regret it.” Logan says leaving the classroom. Knowing him, he will probably skip school. “I’m sorry.”I hear Si’las say

“It's ok. He has been a total jerk this week.” I say. We don’t get to say much, because the teachers come in. Today both Emily and Karly skip, along with Logan. Karly skipped though because she was sick, Emily gave no reason. Karly would skip sometimes, but Emily never skipped, well except for today. Little things like that make me think something is going on between them. The rest of the class goes in a blur. The rest of the classes until lunch go by in a blur. At the much table I notice everyone is there but Karly, Emily, and Logan. Something has to be up. Instead of the sitting where I usually sit at, I sit with Si’las and his sister Scottlyn. I don’t see Mary anywhere, so I sit there. When I ask them where she is, Scottlyn replies, “She said she is done sitting with us. Since the two days are over. Speaking of, why aren’t you sitting at the usual table?”

“Something is up with them. And I still think Logan is cheating, and it’s like they are all hiding it.” The whole lunch period we talked. Around them I didn’t feel like I had to pretend to be something I’m not. I found out that Scottlyn is the sweetest person, and Si’las is just as charming as he is cute. I invite them to the party Friday, because it’s not like Logan would notice. It’s going to be packed. When the lunch period ends, I actually don’t want it to.
