I wake up the next morning, and see Si’las wrapped up in the blanket on the floor. I look at the time and see that it is six in the morning. My parents usually leave at six thirty. I get out of the bed and go to Si’las. I nudge Si’las awake. “Wake up; my parents will be leaving soon.”I whisper.
“Okay, I'm getting up.”He says, yawning and getting up. I hear my parents open their door, and I make Si’las leaves right away. He climbs out the window, and is gone before they even unlock the door. “What are you doing up this early?”My dad asks unlocking the door.
“I heard a noise, so I got up” I lie. They buy it and nod. “Josh will be here. So ill keep the door unlocked.”
“Thank you dad.”
“Your mother and I are about to leave, I don’t want that Si’las boy over when we aren’t here.”I nod and he leaves. I close the door after him. If I want Si’las over, then I’ll have him over. They leave and I go knock on Josh’s door. “Hey how are you feeling?”He asks me when I walk in.
“I feel a lot better. I got locked in last night.”
“You did?”
“Yep, but I had Si’las over.”
“Where did he sleep at?”Josh asks, something told me he would ask that question.
“Don’t worry, he slept on the floor. I told him I wasn’t comfortable with him in the bed.”
“Okay, but was he okay with that?”
“Yea, well he seemed like it.” Josh just nods. “So are you ready for this party coming up?” I ask him, trying to break the awkward silence.
“Hmm, I don’t really care. Si’las did ask me what the Kate case was, I told him I didn’t know; but I was sure you would know. What's going on? Does it have something to do with the murders?”
“Well,” I begin how I began with Si’las. “You might want to sit down.”When he does, I tell him everything I told Si’las. No more secrets now, I could have died; I need to save myself and whoever is next.
“So let me get this straight, Karly was driving and made it look like Kate drove so that she wouldn’t get in trouble?”
“Yes.”I reply, scared by what will happen next.
“Why didn’t you guys tell anybody?”
“Karly blackmailed me, she knew what mom and dad was doing. I didn’t want them to get in trouble so I didn’t tell. But now I'm starting to see that the murders are really connected.”
“How, I see how Emily and dying, and you getting pushed are connected. But the others?” I then explain how they are connected. “Wow, it is all connected.”
“Do you think I should go to the party?”
“Yea, I think you will be fine. Besides its Nick and Matt are throwing the party. And Si’las and me will be there to protect you.” I laugh and head downstairs to fix some breakfast. I look in the cabinet and see that all we are waffle mix. “Josh, do you think the waffle mix is poisoned?”I yell, hoping he will hear me.
