The police points to each of us, then points to where we are to go to. Si’las and I head off to the farthest side of the meadow. While we walk there, we are silent. We are both too scared to speak. When we are far away from people, we ease up a little. “How are you doing?” Si’las asks, frowning his brows.

“I'm fine. I'm just scared of getting suspended. I can’t have that on my record, I need to get into college.”

“So you can get away from your parents?”

“Yea, how did you know?” I ask shocked.

“I know the things they have done to you.  I would leave to; you deserve better that than.” He says, kissing me on the forehead. “I hope you know, I didn’t want t talk to them Monday.”

“I figured you didn’t I don’t blame you, I don’t want to talk to them most of the time.” He laughs and we continue on with looking. We find nothing, so we head back to the bus. We are not the first to get back. Soon everyone returns, reporting that they found nothing. I look at my watch and see that it is 10:30; we have been out her for an hour and a half.  We all board the bus and head back to school.

Once at the school, the school bus doors don’t open right away. Instead the bus driver stands up and faces u. “I have been told to inform you that you guys are to go straight to the auditorium for a meeting from the principle.”He says the nods and opens the door.

We all file out and head to the auditorium. The sophomores and freshmen are already in there. And the principle is on the stage waiting for us to sit down. We all take our seats, and that’s when I notice she is not in a good mood. “You imbeciles!”She barks at us, this isn’t going to b good. “You guys didn’t even try to find her. Mary Wilson is out there missing. Worst my son’s killer is out there. And you guys failed at finding him.” She looks like she was going to say more, but the vice principle pulls her off the stage and out of the building. A teacher, which I have never seen before, comes to the microphone. “How about you guys go home for the day and get some rest. School will resume tomorrow morning. Have a nice day.” He says.

We all leave, shocked by what the principle just told us. She is going crazy over what is happening.  Si’las walks me to my car, “Go straight home.”He tells me.

“I'm not five.”I laugh. He just shrugs, opens my door, and walk towards his limo to wait for Scottlyn. Like he told me to, I go straight home. I notice that no one is there, so I wait for Josh to get home. For some reason I'm scared to go in without him. Josh pulls up about ten minutes later. “Hey what are you doing out here?” He asks.

“I was too scared to go in by myself.” I laugh realizing how I dumb I must of sounded.  He laughs too, and we walk into the house together.  Naturally nothing is inside, I just felt safer with Josh.  “So what do you think is wrong with Mrs. Mick?” I ask Josh as we sit in the kitchen and eat a snack together.

“She is going crazy. She is getting very obsessed with finding Jack’s killer. Even though he might not have been killed, it could have been an accident or something.” I nod; she is getting wrapped up in this. She doesn’t even seem to care about the other students. “She doesn’t even seem to care about the other students.” Josh says repeating what I just thought.

“Yea, I talked to her about how I thought they might be connected, and she was more worried about Jack’s part. We don’t even know what happened to Jack.”
