The rest of the week goes by in a blur. It’s all the same: go to school, do homework, go to sleep. Nothing eventful happens. Soon enough I’m leaving school on Friday, telling Si’las to pick me up at 6:30 tonight. When I get home I dodge my parent’s questions and run up stairs to do some homework. 5:30 rolls around, and I take a shower. Once I’m out I put on the floral dress and do my hair and makeup, I put my shoes on last. By the time I’m finished with everything, its 6:15. I run out to the hallway. “Are you going tonight?” I ask Josh.
“Yea.”
“With who?”
“Matt and I are going; we are hoping to meet some girls who are single and ready to mingle.” I laugh and run downstairs. Just as I’m on the last step, there is a knock on the door. My parents open it before I’m able to get to it. “Time to meet this mystery Si’las boy.” My mom says opening the door. “Hi!”
“Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Clarke.”He sure is a charmer. “I’m Si’las.” He extends his hand out to shake theirs. They are super nice to him and try to keep us longer, but I won’t let them. “You two have a nice night.” We nod and leave. Si’las brought his navy blue mustang. “Scottlyn not going?”
“No, she is not the dance type of girl.” I just shake my head along. I curious if Karly and Emily will come, I doubt they have dates to the dance.
When we get to the dance, the party center has been transferred into a beautiful winter forest. A bunch of students are already there. In the corner of the room, looking grumpy is Karly and Emily. I guess no one asked them. “You want some punch?”I ask Si’las. He nods and we head over to the table. “Well, well, well, look who it is.” I hear a voice says from behind me. I turn around and see that it is Mary Wilson. “You move on fast. Maybe the rumors of you cheating were cheating.”
‘Oh shut up.”I tell her. How dare she say that? “Why are you even here? This is for juniors?”
“Like only juniors come. I remember you even asked Scottlyn to come, she’s a soft more.”
“She is actually wanted here.”
“Anyway, I came here with Logan. Since him and Karly broke up, finally, he needed someone to come with him.” I roll my eyes and lead Si’las over to a table. I don’t feel like being bothered with this. I’m glad I do leave, I see Logan walk up to her. His eyes meet mine, and he starts to walk my way. “I see you came here with Si’las.”He smirks, then turning to Si’las he says, “Where is your little sister?”
“Keep her name off your tongue.”He hisses. “How about you just leave? No one wants you here.” Logan looks a little stunned but he leaves.
We sit there in silence until I see Josh enter. “Is it okay if Matt and Josh sit with us?”
“Yea no problem.” I wave them over and they come sit with us. “How is your night been?”
“Fine.” Before we could say more, the dancing music start playing. “Come on let’s dance.” I tell Si’las as I pull him towards the dance floor. At first it is a fast song, and we dance fast and crazy to the dance; and we have a lot of fun. Then a slow song starts to play. Some people leave the dance floor, including Logan and Mary. I look into the corner and see Karly crying and Emily patting her back. Like I said before; what goes around, comes back around. “Do you want to slow dance?” Si’las asks me softly in my ear.
