"Well, I'm Dominic and this is Tom," I introduce myself to the soldier and drone as I reach around the fire to shake their hands. Penelope smiles at me warmly and Matt gives me a nod of his head as my warm hand touches his cold one.

"We mean you no harm; now or in the future. We just wish that you join us in the fight for our land back before that psycho turns it into his board game and the people into game pieces," the blonde haired woman says as she looks over to Matthew. Tom grunts in response as he rolls his eyes and goes back to the tree he was leaning against before they showed up. "You'll need more wood if you want to make this fire  last until morning. I'll go grab some."

"No. I will." My friend heads off into the forest before either one of us could object and leaves me to accompany the strangers. Penelope sits down on the opposite side of the fire as Matt sits beside her with the same facial expression he had on since we first met. I wish to talk to them and ask many questions but I don't know what to say, though the woman begins for me.

"I know your friend is frustrated and angry for whatever happened before we came along but I just want you to know that we do not agree with what the government, the army, so on and so forth has been doing. I guess that's why we left." Once again she looks over to her drone in confirmation as I pull my legs up into my chest. "Is there anything you would like to clear up before you follow us?"

"Well, I'd like to get to know you two better. All I seem to know about you guys is that you're renegades of the government," I answer as Penelope leans back onto her arm and watches the fire rise into the sky. She contemplates on what to say first as I glance to Matt who is already staring at me, making me blush lightly.

"We were just both normal people. I was the daughter of General Jones, the lead commander for Globalist. He was there when he was assassinated; held him in his arms as he died and as the whole city fell apart. I was forced into the handler programme just to keep my father alive, but the rest of my family were killed. There has to be a change all before it's too late to be changed. Just after Globalist was killed, I had set up a resistance with close friends who had connections. When I left, I put it all in control of one person who I hoped would lead proudly. He's a nice guy, really, I think you will like him."

"I knew who your dad was. We worked with Globalist together, I was his lawyer and adviser. Your dad was a great man," I complimented her as she smiled and nodded her head. Penelope really did look and act like her father a lot more now that I notice; tough and in control. "What about you Matt? Have anything you want to say?"

"I do not remember anything. No memory chip implanted," he spoke calmly, like it was normal for people to have computer chips in their body. Matthew's friend apologised for him as she rubbed the back of her neck and shifted in her position. "Penelope is my family now. She will keep me safe and I will protect her."

"That's nice." There was an awkward silence in the air after Matt spoke and Penelope and I noticed as we locked eyes and giggled lightly. "Do you think that this will actually work? The resistance?"

"It should. I used many of the strategies and techniques that my father used when he was in the army and still worked for Globalist. It's sound and well lead," she stated as I heard Tom finally returning with a small pile of sticks that will barely last the rest of the night. "We should all get some rest. I'll take first look out for you guys."

"No. I'll be watching for anything," Thomas had said forcefully as Penelope cocked an eyebrow and looked back at me as I shrugged my shoulders in response. I leaned backwards into the tree behind me and closed my eyes, after looking at all the people around me. Matthew stares at me again as his beady grey eyes scan my face. Maybe this whole thing will actually work and we can save the world from destruction.
