Chapter 22

While in California,little Igor woke up crying."Mama,mama.Wake up!Wake up!
Gina tried to pacify the child.Ssssshh.Sssshh."You're dreaming.Do you like milk?"Igor shook his tiny head."I want my mama.".I want my mama!
"Let's wait for your papa.He'll be here soon"
Ramon arrived an hour later.Igor run to him."Papa,papa ,I saw mama."Ramon looked at his in laws."He dreamed of his mother.It's a good thing you arrived at once.He keeps calling her".
Ramon looked at his son.He picked him up and set him at the table."You saw your mama?"Igor nodded."Where?Did she talk to you?"Igor shook his head."Mama is sleeping.I tried to wake her up but she didn't hear me"
Father and son embraced each other.They missed Heart so much.Gina looked at them.How can they move on if they keep thinking of her deceased daughter.
"Papa,mama is in pain.She can't walk.She is asleep.I called her but she didn't hear me."
"Do you want us to visit her in Vegas.You know,the mass grave".
The boy didn't answer his father.He is thinking of the black stone that was erected as a memorial for those who died.His father said his mother is there."wala dun si mama.Nandun siya sa isang kwarto,nakahiga.puntahan natin siya."
Hinimas ni Ramon ang ulo ng anak."Miss na natin si Mama.Pray tayo ha."Binuhat niya ang anak."O,good night ka na kila lolo at lola"

That week,Igor woke up crying."Hintayin mo kami mama.Pupunta kami diyan .Kukunin ka namin."
Kinulit ni Igor ang papa,lolo at lola niya.Naawa man ,wala naman silang magawa kundi mangakong pupunta sila ng Vegas.
Nagpapadyak ang bata."Wala dun si mama.Nasa bahay siya ng malalaking tao"
Nagkatinnginan ang tatlo.Si Ramon ,nakaramdam ng kaba.Posible kayang totoo ang sinasabi ng anak nya?."Pag nakita mo ulit si mama,tignan mo yung bahay.Tignan mo ang paligid.Tanungin mo kung anong lugar.Pupuntahan natin siya."Tuwang tuwa ang bata.Pag gising ng anak tatanungin agad ni Ramon kung nanaginip ito.Iiling ang bata.Pati ang lolo at lola nag aabang din.Si Ramon,madalas bantayan ang anak pag natutulog.Naniniwala siya sa sinasabi nito.Parang may umusbong na pag asa sa puso niya.
Dumalaw uli si Judy.Tuwang tuwang ibinalita ni Igor sa kanya ang tungkol sa mama niya."We're going to fetch my mama,auntie."Nag isip sandali si Judy."Oh,you mean you're going to visit her grave."Umiling si Igor."My mama is not there.She is in a room.There are big people there."Judy refrained from talking again.
She opened her bag."I brought something for you.Here,take a look".As the boy looked at the pictures of wild animals,Judy went in search of Ramon.She found her in the garage."Ramon,Igor keeps talking about fetching his mom.Don't you know that will break his heart.Raising hope that his mom is alive".Ramon looked at her."I believe him Judy.God help me.But I believe my son is telling the truth".
Judy's jaw dropped."What,you're entertaining the idea that your wife is alive!That's stupid of you.No one comes back from the dead!.For Pete's sake!.Wake up.!"
"You can't blame me.If I have to believe in miracles,I will.I love her so much.If not for my son,I would rather be dead.than live in agony everyday.You can't understand because you haven't found your great love yet."Judy bit her tongue.She almost blurted out that her only love is standing right before her.She turnef back.She went to look for Gina.Maybe the old folks can talk some sense into him.
She found Gina in her office.They hugged each other."Good to see you.Had Igor seen you?Have you seen Ramon ?"Judy nodded.The old folks are always happy to see her.They treat her as family.Maybe because she is fond of Igor.Fond is a wrong term.She loves her like a son.And the boy reciprocates her love.
"Are you.aware that Igor has been harboring the idea that his mother is still alive.And Ramon is not doing anything ."Gina didn"t answer her at once.What Judy said is true.The child will be heartbroken.But it is better for him to accept that his mother is dead. Dead people don't come back.He just had to live with that.
"I'll talk to Ramon.I can't blame him though.He loves her so much.They had been so happy for 9 years.We had witnessed how they cared for each other.But nothinng lasts forever."
