CHATPER 4 - Kalos League Finals

THIRD PERSON

Somewhere in the stands, the whole gang had just seen the trainers send out their respective Pokemon. "Ash has the advantage with Talonflame being a fire type and Metagross being a steel type, right?" Bonnie questioned, clearly interested in this matchup.

"Yes, he does, but Metagross will resist Talonflame's flying type moves. Plus, Metagross is a very powerful Pokemon in general so Ash shouldn't get complacent," Sawyer explained.

"I've seen Alain's Metagross in battle before, too. It's not one to underestimate," Trevor added.

Taking in the information that was just given out, Serena's worry began to rise. "Be careful, Ash..." She gripped her ribbon even tighter, scrunching its neat presentation.

Over at the spectators' entrance, Gary and Brock walked in to see their lifelong friend on the battlefield. "There he is," Gary pointed out.

"And he has a Talonflame our first. I just recently studied the anatomy of the Fletchling evolutionary line. They're pretty intriguing. This might be quite the battle we have on our hands," Brock said.

"Of course it'll be. It's Ashy-boy and he's finally in the final round. This will be crazy!"

The first move of the battle was eventually called. "Talonflame, use Flame Charge!" The fire-flying type engulfed itself in scorching-red flames, upping the temperature of the air surrounding it, then threw itself at the steel-psychic type.

"Metagross, Rock Slide!" Alain commanded, swiping his fist in a sideways motion.

Just before Talonflame could make contact with its blazing body, large boulders appeared above the bird. Within a split second, the rocks shot down with striking speeds; with Talonflame in their trajectory.

Ash's eyes widened as he witnessed his Pokemon being struck by every single boulder, creating a dusty explosion. The massive dust cloud completely shrouded both Pokemon. Everyone could tell how powerful that Rock Slide was from the volume of the rumbling explosion and the sheer force it emitted.

As the cloud dissipated, Talonflame could be seen, weakly lying on the ground. "Talonflame!" Ash cried. The latter slowly up, but was severely weakened by the brute assault of the Rock Slide, being a super effective move. Ash frowned, knowing he couldn't attack Metagross head on. Surveying the area, an idea was birthed. "Use Flame Charge again!"

Talonflame did as its trainer commanded, engulfing itself in red hot flames, then sped off towards Metagross.

Back in the stands, the gang were surprised to hear Ash's call. "What?! Talonflame's going to get hit by another Rock Slide and it'll be done for," Tierno worriedly stated. Serena took Tierno's comment into consideration whilst completely focused on the battle. She knew Ash had to have a plan in mind, and she was right. That's when the performer noticed a grin on the Kanto native's face. "Guys, look! Ash is smiling. He knows Alain's going to use Rock Slide again so he has to have a plan!" the honey-blonde announced to the group.

"Using that again?" Alain scoffed, "I'll use this again, Rock Slide!"

Upon hearing Alain's command, Ash's smile grew even wider. "Perfect,"

Once again, colossal sized rocks appeared above Talonflame, overshadowing the bird. Just before they shot down, Ash shouted, "Fly right into them with your flames!" The Scorching Pokemon did as told and changed its flight trajectory from Metagross to the floating rocks. The boulders flew straight into the burning bird, which was charging straight into them, erupting into a massive fiery-red explosion. The crowd collectively gasped as they all watched the cloud of dust; slowly dissolving.
