CHAPTER 5 - Kalos League Finals (Part 2)
THIRD PERSON
"I need to end this battle... Hawlucha is approaching its limits... But how...?"
Looking around, Ash tried to think of a way to use the terrain to his advantage, but his thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a command from his opponent.
"Tyranitar, Stone Edge!"
Colossal, blue-coloured rocks started to chase Hawlucha after a smash in the ground from Tyranitar. Suddenly, a memory from Serena's Master Class performance entered Ash's mind. It was Serena's final performance against Aria; when she used all three of her Pokemon in the spectacular visual performance.
"That's it!"
"Hawlucha, run up the Stone Edge as if they were stairs! Then, jump off and use High Jump Kick!" Ash shouted, hoping his vision would pay off. Just as the last rock pillar was about to slam into Hawlucha, it performed a backflip, barely dodging the attack. Within a split second, Hawlucha appeared at the start of the rocky staircase and bolted up, until it was at the final pillar. The Wrestling Pokemon's knee glowed white before it made an attempt to linearly dive at the Armour Pokemon. As the knee made contact, Tyranitar felt the sheer force and strength of the attack, making the the Armour Pokemon sink into the ground.
A massive explosion erupted from the battlefield, shrouding the two Pokemon in dust. Everyone in the stadium attentively stared at the dust cloud, awaiting the victor of the spar. An awkward silence filled the arena as the cloud of dust started to wear out.
Suddenly, Hawlucha jumped out from the cloud, landing on its feet, in front of Ash.
"Is it over?" Serena softly asked, directing the question to no one in particular. But that question was what everyone was thinking.
Just as the cloud of dust was about to dissipate, a fast moving silhouette of Tyranitar could be seen, rushing through the explosion aftermath. In lightning speed, Tyranitar appeared in front of Hawlucha with a glowing fist, ready to strike.
"No! Dodge it!" Ash immediately yelled. But it was too late. If Hawlucha was at full strength, its reaction time would've been top notch. However, this wasn't the case. Hawlucha's general speed had been heavily hindered from the damage it had endured throughout the course of the battle.
The dark-rock type displayed no signs of mercy as again, its fist connected with Hawlucha's chest. The connection of the attack emitted a shockwave throughout the field as the flying-fighting type was shot past its trainer at a bullet's speed and into the stadium's boundaries behind Ash. Hawlucha weakly cried before crashing into the ground with swirly eyes.
Even the referee took a while to register the defeat. "Hawlucha is unable to battle! Tyranitar is the winner!" Hawlucha's picture on the scoreboard faded out, officiating its loss.
The crowd exploded into cheers and applause following Tyranitar's win against Hawlucha.
"What a magnificent duel that was! Alain's Tyranitar enduring hit after hit and Ash's Hawlucha taking powerful blows was spectacular to watch! But in the end, Alain's Tyranitar managed to come out on top!"
The gang's face was written with shock. "But how...?" Serena muttered. Not even Clemont, who had the brains, knew how Tyranitar was able to endure the direct High Jump Kick.
