CHAPTER 16 - A Showdown

THIRD PERSON

"Lysandre, it looks like that Ketchum brat is accompanied with the Champions of Kalos and Hoenn," Lysandre heard from the holographic figure of Archie. The Team Flare leader was still inside the jet which started to decrease acceleration. He sat across someone, who looked very dull. That person had his head down, with his black hair covering his facial features. He never spoke a word during the entirety of the flight to Geosenge; utterly silent. Lysandre glanced at the still figure, to see if he had moved in the slightest. No outcome, so he turned back to the hologram.

"As expected. Is Malva there, too?"

"Yes she is. It looks like everything is going according to plan," Archie responded. Lysandre smirked upon hearing what his Hoenn friend had said.

"Everything is going better than planed. I've received word from Trish that she has captured the other group," Lysandre stated. It was not too long ago that he was alerted by one of his team's admin. It was pleasing news to him.

"Who?" Archie wondered who Lysandre was referring to.

"They have that kid gym leader, the Champions of Sinnoh and Unova, and three others. They also had a Blaziken that could Mega Evolve. It's now being studied and its Mega Evolution energy is being extracted."

"Amazing. Quite a catch you have there," Archie remarked with a hearty laugh. "I see that you're almost here. I'll see you soon." The hologram from the electronic device in Lysandre's hand minimised itself until it disappeared. Lysandre lowered his arm and shoved the device into his pocket, before peering over to the person sitting opposite to him. They could feel the jet slowly descending and both sat there in silence.

"Are you ready to battle?" Lysandre finally spoke. He waited patiently for the answer which came after a few seconds of nothing, but silence. The figure responded, but still managed to not produce any motions. He was like a stone statue.

"Yes, master." he said coldly, no expression in his tone.

"Good. You are my ace. You better not disappoint me," Lysandre smirked.

"Alain."

The road leading up to the entrance of Geosenge Town was filled with humans and Pokemon. On one side, in front of the town's gate, was a large wave of Team Aqua grunts, led by their admin, Matt. On the opposing side, was the group of Ash, Diantha, Gary, Malva, Sawyer, Serena and Steven, who all had their Pokemon beside them. Each side of the road was covered in thick vegetation and towering trees. But soon enough, this road would be demolished.

Matt kept a cool and calm composure, even though he was about to face off against two regional champions, the most recent Kalos League winner, an Elite Four member, a renowned Professor's grandson, a Kalos League semi-finalist, and a performer, all at once. He showed no signs of fear in the slightest. He was confident. He was smiling. All he had on his side were mere Team Aqua grunts, only fit to battle low-tier trainers. However, Matt and his subordinates heavily outnumbered their opponents. His loyal and trustworthy Pokemon connected with him, in a sense that their emotions would derive from his very own inner emotions. And right now, Crobat and Sharpedo looked as confident as ever.

A jet zoomed past the area from above. The velocity of it was so great, that it created a large gust of wind which swept across the vicinity where Team Aqua and Ash's group were about to battle it out. Ash had found it oddly strange that a jet would fly past, at this time; a time of crisis like this. He didn't put too much thought into it because he had more important matters at hand.
