CHAPTER 9 - Kalos League Finals (Part 6)
THIRD PERSON
"I've been waiting for this very moment! Are you ready, Ash?!" Alain hollered from one side of the field. Letting out a slight chuckle, Ash replied, "I couldn't be more ready!"
"This is it. They're both down to their last Pokemon. This decides if Ash wins the Kalos League or not," Clemont said, fixing his glasses. Serena looked up at the sky after hearing Clemont's statement and felt her heart racing, even if she wasn't the one battling.
"It's time for Ash's last Pokemon," Brock stated the obvious at the railing.
"Yeah. I wonder what Ashy-boy has in store for us. Maybe best for last?" Gary wondered.
"We'll just have to wait and see," Brock replied.
Back at the battlefield, Ash closed his eyes. He inhaled a deep breath and let it out. The nerves that surrounded him washed away, but some butterflies were still flying around in his stomach. "This is it. The final battle. My first League title. It's in my reaches. I can definitely feel it. I just need one more victory." The raven-haired trainer reopened his eyes and looked directly into his opponent's eyes. They both smiled at each other and gave a nod. It was as if they were saying, "May the best man win," without physically saying it to each other.
Ash finally broke the eye contact and started to search the stadium with his eyes. After a few seconds of surveying, he finally found the gang, but something unusual occurred. His eyes stopped on Serena for a slight second, making their eyes meet. The smallest of smiles grew on Ash's face. He didn't know why such an event happened, so he didn't think too much about it and kept moving his eyes along, until he found Gary and Brock. The duo had large grins on their faces. Brock gave a thumbs up whereas Gary just looked impressed.
"Thanks, guys..." Ash mumbled.
Serena, on the other hand, felt as if their eye meeting lasted an eternity. She noticed the little smile on his face and she couldn't help it but smile back, until he moved on.
"Alright, it's time. Greninja, let's do this!"
"Charizard, time to go!"
The Ninja Pokemon had its arms crossed as it appeared from its capture device, whereas Charizard gave a deathly stare to its opponent. The two rivals looked each other in the eye with tormenting smiles. The last time the two Pokemon faced off had a slight interruption with Ash passing out. This time, they were looking to finish the battle, with more power than before.
"We're not going easy. Full power from the start! With the power of Mega Evolution, respond to my heart! Charizard, Mega Evolve!" Alain held his arm with the Mega Ring in the air before it started glowing. Charizard's bond with Alain could be seen as their thoughts fused together. The light of the Mega Evolution surrounded Charizard as its body features started to change. Mega Charizard X's legs and claws grew larger in both strength and size, whereas its whole colour as a normal Charizard had changed. The orange body turned into black and the cream underside changed into a light blue. The Flame Pokemon roared, stating its dominance.
"Going big already? Alright, it's our turn. Let's go Greninja! More power than ever before!" Ash shouted as he synchronised his movements with his Pokemon. The two could feel their bond strengthen with every transformation. A massive water veil surrounded the Ninja Pokemon as the process started. The veil whirled with fierce force before it gathered on Greninja's back, forming large water-like butterfly wings. The wings soon after shrunk into a massive shuriken, mounted on its back.
The whole crowd went into a frenzy of cheers after seeing the form changes from both Pokemon. The power those two exerted was unbelievable. Lysandre's eyes glistened from the sight. He was waiting for this, all battle long. The power which Ash and his Greninja wielded. The power which can rival Mega Evolution.
