CHAPTER 10 - Kalos League Victory

THIRD PERSON

The two attacks of Water Shuriken and Blast Burn exploded with such a large force, it shook the entire stadium like an earthquake had just hit the city. The explosion overtook the whole battlefield, engulfing both Pokemon and both trainers. One side of the field was covered in blue smoke, whereas the other side went up in red dust. Everyone who was witnessing the battle had their minds blown away, just from the sheer intensity of the battle and how much power the two Pokemon possessed. Having already seen Greninja's potential, Serena, Bonnie and Clemont were still just as surprised as anyone who hadn't seen it before.

"What power..." Brock muttered. Gary was still trying to process what he had just seen.

"Who... won...?" Gary trailed off with a curious tone. That was what everyone was asking themselves. Or were both Pokemon raring to keep going? Questions surrounded everyone's thoughts. The stadium was dead silent. No signs of any sound. The only thing that could be seen was the dust which was slowly disappearing.

Serena was most concerned for the outcome of the battle, especially for Ash. Her heart rapidly pounded against her chest, almost like a heart attack. With the caring personality she has, Serena clasped both of her hands and placed them over her chest, praying that Ash and Greninja would pull through.

Ash carefully lowered his arm, after shielding himself from any debris hitting him or smoke entering his body. All he could see were the dark silhouettes of Charizard and Greninja as the smoke started to lift. Surprisingly, they were both standing. After a few more seconds of waiting, the dust finally fully dispersed, revealing a standing Greninja and Charizard, whom were staring at each other in the eye. No noise came from anyone. It was eerily quiet. Even the M.C. wasn't saying anything. Everyone was just waiting for the result.

After what felt like an eternity, Greninja finally fell to one knee and had one arm on its other leg. It wheezed heavily, trying to stabilise its breathing. The most important thing was that it was still conscious.

On the other side, Charizard was still standing, even after Greninja fell down in exhaustion. The Flame Pokemon put a massive smile on and looked back to its trainer. Alain's shocked face turned into a proud smile. In that second, the Mega Evolved Pokemon fell face planted into the grass, before reverting to its normal form.

The referee was so taken aback by the battle that it took him a couple of seconds to finalise the match.

"Charizard is unable to battle! Greninja is the winner! Therefore, Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town takes the match and the Kalos League title!" The crowd stayed silent only for a few seconds after the announcement, before they erupted into roaring cheers and thundering claps. The amount of applause and praise was mind blowing. It had been louder than any other time before.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Would you feast your eyes on what seemed like to be a battle of yin against yang?! Ash's Greninja in a form, similar to Mega Evolution and Alain's Mega Charizard X evenly matched each other in skill and strength! Blow for blow, strike for strike! There had to be only one victor! And that person is Ash Ketchum!" the M.C. shouted through his microphone. The spectators raised the volume to an even more deafening level.

"He did it! He did it! Ash won the Kalos League! Ash won it!" Bonnie and Serena simultaneously squealed as they joyously jumped from their seats and hugged each other. Clemont had one of the largest smiles on his face which he didn't even know existed. The rest of the group were still clapping and cheering for their raven-haired friend. After a few seconds, Serena finally broke the hug as Bonnie retired to her seat. Serena, however, was still on her feet with a hand over her racing heart. The honey-blonde performer had tears of joy in her eyes and her cheeks were flushed with a crimson shade. "Ash... You did it..." Serena mumbled, just so no one heard.
