CHAPTER 14 - Destruction

THIRD PERSON

"The city is..." Serena trailed off. "Destroyed..."

The room was dead quiet, whereas there were screams heard, police sirens everywhere and car tyres screeching outside of the cabin. It was complete chaos. Everyone was frozen on the spot, looking out the window of the room, where the glass pane had shattered, with shards scattered all over the floor. They couldn't believe what they were witnessing. The city, known as Lumiose, was in shambles and the civilians weren't much better. Most of the houses on the streets were crumbled, but not completely destroyed. There were things that looked like abnormally large tree roots, wrapped around the city's buildings. The roads were swarmed with these 'roots', making it almost impossible to navigate the city.

"What the hell is all of this?!" Gary shouted loudly, still trying to take in what was happening at the present time. Suddenly, a terrified scream was heard from outside as everyone snapped their heads towards the origin of it. They all wide eyed, watching a mother, shielding her child from a large block of concrete that was about to crush them. Everyone in the group were about to grab their PokeBalls, but Ash was too quick and sprung into action with his Greninja and Pikachu.

"Greninja, use Water Shuriken to shatter it! Then, Pikachu, use Iron Tail to knock any debris away from them!" Ash commanded with his two Pokemon following their orders. As the Ninja Pokemon was about to hurl multiple water-manipulated ninja stars at the falling concrete, a red flash of fire slashed through it, splitting the block in halves. Ash couldn't see it properly, but he knew it was a Mega Blaziken. The Blaze Pokemon set its right leg alight and smashed it into both blocks, making them shatter into fine dust. The Blaziken then landed to where the mother and child were, before taking them away.

"I know that Blaziken," Ash stated, just before a tall figure, wearing a red cape and a Blaziken mask, appeared in front of the cabin's window.

"You guys need to get out of this place, now. This thing will collapse pretty soon," his deep voice spoke. They all agreed as the group inside, grabbed their belongings and jumped through the window.

"Blaziken Mask, what's happening? Is Lumiose City under attack?" Clemont asked, staring at him straight in the eyes. The lemon-haired inventor was as serious as he could get, knowing his city is in the process of being destroyed. Blaziken Mask didn't say much for a few seconds, but eventually replied.

"I believe so. These root-looking things are overtaking the whole city and I believe the origin is at Prism Tower."

"Great. Now we have two things to deal with; this city that is about to turn into the 'Great Lumiose Tree' and the ultimate weapon in Geosenge Town," Gary remarked.

"How are we going to handle this?" Sawyer asked, but no one knew the exact answer.

"As I was on my way here, I saw the Kalos Champion and Siebold walk through the Pokemon Centre. Maybe we should go there first," Blaziken Mask added. The group on young trainers all looked at each other with slight confusion at first, but came to a final consensus.

"Let's go," Ash nodded as he started running toward the Pokemon Centre with the others following behind.

In the Pokemon Centre, Diantha stood in the middle, negotiating with the other regional champions: Alder, Cynthia and Steven. Stood behind her were the Elite Four members of Kalos: Drasna, Malva, Siebold and Wikstrom. Their negotiation had been cut short as the electronic sound of the Centre's doors opening was heard. The group walked in, huffing and puffing from the running.
