Haven't had much response recently... oh well! I am still writing this. This is to please myself. I don't need you guys! Ok, kidding. On with the story!

"What's going on? I heard yelling!" Wendy's voice echoed through the house, along with her heavy footsteps up the stairs.

"Shit,"

I was not going to have Wendy walking in on us like that. Angel was on his bed, with no shirt, I was on top of him and we were a lip distance apart. If Wendy saw us, it would be awkward and we would get into some trouble.

Instantly, I stood up, Angel stood beside me. The footsteps got louder and louder as Wendy drew nearer to Angel's bedroom.

"Take this," I reached for the floor and grabbed a t-shirt for Angel to take. He snatched it and pulled it over his head quickly.

As he did this, I stood near the hinges of the door, so I couuld hide when Wendy opened the door.

I just about made it, the door opened as soon as my bag hit the wall.

"Angel, do you know what the yelling was about?"

I kept my fingers crossed, Angel hated lying, was he going to say something?

"It's nothing, Marilyn and I were having an argument that's all,"

He could have said anything. He could have just said he didn't know. He didn't have to be part of the yelling.

"Oh, are you two alright?"

"Yeah, we're fine,"

"Shoul I see Marilyn to check she's OK?" asked Wendy. I shook my head at Angel who could see me standing slightly behind Wendy.

"Nah, she needs some time to cool off probably,"

"Oh," I could tell Wendy was smiling. "You know Marilyn so well! It's great!" there was a pause. "So what were you arguing about,"

Please Angel, don't mess this up. Don't say anything stupid.

"Marilyn lost her button and she thought I took it but I didn't. She knows I didn't now,"

I was so angry with Angel. I was tempted to pounce at him again from behind the door, then I remembered that Wendy was in the room.

"Not her Precious Button? Did someone take it?"

"Um..." Angel looked at me, he realised I was angry so looked away. He knew he did something wrong. "Maybe?"

"I need to talk to the house, whether it is stolen or not, I need to know if anyone has seen it. Thanks for letting me know,"

Angel didn't answer, he didn't have time. Wendy had already turned and walked out the door. I pushed against the door so it shut and grabbed Angel's shoulders.

"What were you thinking? Why did you bloody tell her?"

"She wants to get your button. She only wants to help,"

"But telling the whole house? I never wanted anybody to know about my button. I told you because I trusted you and I told Wendy when I first came here because I thought I could trust her!"

"I'm sorry,"

I looked at him. "It's OK. I think I'll go to my room now,"

I got out of Angel's room and headed down to my room. I was angry with Angel, but at the same time, I wanted to be with him. It was always a good idea to leave me alone when I was angry.

I couldn't have lost my button. Nobody apart from Angel knew about it, Angel wouldn't want to take it. Then again, nobody would want to take my button, to them, it's just a button.

Knock Knock

The door opened, standing in the door was Wendy.

"Meeting!"

I wasn't in the mood for a house meeting. They were over such little stuff. Sometimes something would happen, and everyone would be punished unless someone owned up.

"Do I have to go?" I asked.

"Yes, living room, now,"

I sighed and stood up before following Wendy out of the room.

In the corridor, lots of kids were going towards the stairs so they could head towards the living room for the meeting.

When I got there, the sofa had already been covered with other kids. I wasn't going to stay for long so I stood as the meeting started.

"Right, I have called you all in here because we have a missing item," annouced Wendy.

No, Wendy wouldn't do this to me. She can't.

"It is a red button with a H and F in yellow on it. Please give it to me if you see it anywhere around the house,"

Oh dear, at least she didn't say who it belonged to.

"Who's is it?" asked Fiona.

"That is none of your business. All we need is to get the button back," said Wendy. For once she did something good for me.

"Why should we get a button? It's just a stupid button," it was Fiona again.

"It may not be much to you, but it means alot to the person it belongs to. I expect it back within the next half hour,"

Wendy clapped her hands and the kids dispersed. I was relieved. I walked out the door but then felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Marilyn, can I talk to you for a second?"

It was Wendy. I turned around and stayed in the living room, everyone had left so it was just the two of us left iin the room.

"I'm sorry if I embarrassed you. I just want to find your button,"

"It's fine," it wasn't really, but I just wanted to get out of the room and get on in life.

"Doesn't it feel like a part of you is missing?"

"Yes..." if I said no, Wendy wouldn't care so much about my button.

"Well, don't worry. We will find it!" She grabbed me and pulled me in. My cheek was squished jus above her breast. She was warm, like a motherly way, but of course not as much as my mum. Wendy was suffocating me, my mum would let me go if I wanted to, but of course, why would I want to leave her?

"Thanks," I pulled away and walked out the room.

I went up the stairs and headed back to myroom. Then I heard a knock on my door.

"What?" I asked.

The door opened. It was Kieran, he was smiling, an evil smile.

"What do you want Kieran?" I asked.

"Oh nothing... I just heard the conversation you had with Wendy in the living room,"

I said nothing. I was angry that he was eavsdropping on us like that.

"This button means alot to you... well guess what? I know where it is!" no, he didn't did he?

"Where? Tell me!"

"Of course I will!" I felt relieved, but slightly scared, could I really trust him? What was he going to do?

"How much will it cost to get the button out of you?"

"Oh not much... maybe a week's worth of science homework?" he smiled again. He knew science was my worst subject. I couldn't help him with my science homework. It would be too difficult. But did I want to lose the button?

"Fine, I'll do it,"

"Good good!" he reached out his hand for me to shake. "Deal?"

"Deal," I confirmed as I grabbed his hand.

"Great, you can start tomorrow!"

It was a week I was dreading.
