Chapter 21

>DJ's POV<
Pabalik na ako sa bahay nang tumawag si Julz. I texted her that I can't make it. Pero hindi niya maintindihan ang side ko. I have other priorities now. I have a wife.

"So ano mas importante pa si Kathryn kesa sakin?" she's shouting on the other side of the phone. She's starting to be the brat Julz that I know.

"I'm sorry Julz. Chand needs me right now."

"And I need you too Daniel. You can't let me stuck in the middle of somewhere!"

"I'll just call Francis to pick you up."

"NO! Ikaw ang gusto ko not other people!"

"I'm sorry Julz. Usap na lang tayo bukas. I'll make sure that Francis will pick you up. Bye."

I ended our conversation. Gusto kong puntahan si Julz pero nakokonsenysa ako na iniwan ko si Chand. I called Francis to do me a favour and explained my situation. Mabuti na lang at wala silang date ni Ella at pumayag siya.

Pagdating ko sa bahay sarado na ang mga ilaw. Natulog na siguro si Chand. I'm so guilty that I ruined our night. I went upstairs to check her on our room pero wala siya. Wala ring tao sa banyo. I searched for her in the whole house pero wala siya. Then I saw her sitting alone in the backyard of our house. Tanging ang munting liwanag lang mula sa mga kandila na kanina ay nasa garden ang kanyang ilaw.

"Hi." I interrupted her thoughts. Nagulat siya na nasa tabi na niya ako.

"How is she?" she asked.

"Hindi ako tumuloy. Si Francis na lang ang pinasundo ko."

"Why? Kanina lang parang natataranta ka pa dahil nasiraan siya ng kotse." She's not looking at me while we're talking pero I can feel the sadness in her voice.

"I don't want to ruin our day Chand."

"I'm okay. She's your life before us happened. And kung natatakot ka na isusumbong kita kina Dad, don't worry I won't do that. Puntahan mo na siya baka galit na galit nay un sayo."

Bakit ba ang bait-bait mo Chand. Mas lalo akong nilalamon ng konsensya ko dahil sa kabaitan mo. Tumingin siya sa akin and smiled. The smile of assurance na okay lang sa kanya na puntahan ko si Julz at iwan ko siya. I suddenly hugged her. I don't know why pero kusa akong tinulak ng sistema ko na yakapin siya.

"DJ, what are you doing?" nagulat siya sa ginawa ko kaya nagpumilit siyang makawala sa pagkakayakap ko.

"I don't know Chand, just let me hug you."

She hugged me back. After few minutes binitawan ko siya. We're facing each other and as I watch her kissable lips, I can't resist to kiss her. Ang lapit na ng pagitan ng mukha naming dalawa. I don't know what's happening to me, kanina gusto ko lang siyang yakapin ngayon naman gusto ko siyang halikan. I was about to kiss her when my phone suddenly rang.

"Answer it baka si Julz yan."

"Just for tonight. No more Julz. Only you Chand."

I turned off my phone, grabbed her and kissed her but she broked our kiss.

"Ano bang nangyayari sayo DJ? Are you drunk? Kanina lang niyakap mo ko tapos ngayon hinalikan mo na ako. Wala dito sina Mom and Dad kaya wag kang mag acting dyan."

So all this time akal niya acting lang tong pinapakita ko.

"I don't know Chand. Hindi ko rin maintindihan kung anong nangyayari sa akin. Pero lahat ng actions ko ay totoo. I'm not pretending. I'm not acting like what you think. Gusto kitang yakapin dahil gusto ko. Hinalikan kita dahil yun ang gusto ko."

"Stop it DJ. We have a deal remember. Ikaw na rin mismo ang nagsabi na ayaw mong matali sa marriage na to but your acting like you're falling for me."

Napatigil ako sa sinabi niya. I'm falling in love with this woman? No! Dala lang to ng emotions ko for this day.

"No I'm not! I'm not falling for you. Baka ikaw na tong nahuhulog sa akin Chand. Based on your actions, I can feel it. But if I were you, ititigil ko na ang nararamdaman ko. You will not be happy with me Chand. I love Julz. I know you know that."

"Yes DJ alam ko naman yun. Pero ayoko nang magsinungaling pa sa sarili ko at sayo. I'm falling for you and that's the sad truth. Don't worry, I'm not expecting na mahuhulog ka sakin. Let's just make it casual. I hope tomorrow you'll forget what I've said. 40 days nalang ang hihintayin mo DJ. After this 100days contract, ako mismo ang maghahatid sayo kay Julz. I assure you that."

She's crying while saying those words. Hindi ako makagalaw sa kinatatayuan ko dahil sa mga sinabi niya. Ayokong nakikita siyang umiiyak pero wala akong magawa. Hindi ko siya malapitan. She ran toward our house. Hindi ko siya hinabol dahil hindi ko alam kung ano ang sasabihin ko sa kanya after her confession.

Chandria is really falling for me. Hindi ako naniwala nung sinabi sakin ni Joyce pero ngayon sa mga bibig n niya mismo nanggaling.

I'm sorry Chand but I can't love you back and you know the reason why.

I drove away from our house and find myself in the front door of my parents' house.
