I welcome Kayla into my room and its not long until she asks me.
"So, are you going to tell me or you're just going to sit there?" she says.
"No, I'll tell you," I start, "okay so do you know a kid by the name of Jack Steiner?"
"Oh my god, yes!!!" she says through a smile, "he's hot."
"Kayla! you have a boyfriend!"
"That doesn't mean that I can't call a guy hot. But seriously, the dude is a hunk."
I chuckle, but in a lower voice I say, "I feel like I know him from somewhere."
"Really? that's weird. Past lover or something?" she prompts.
"No way."
"Oh, well, I can't help you if I barely know the guy," She admits
"Yeah, that's what I thought." I say, disappointed.
"Oh! but I could ask Tyler to get his number!" She says excitedly.
"That's not going to solve anything, kake," I say.
"Okay, is that all you're bothered about?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, if I figure something out, you will be the first to know." She promises me.
"Thank you," I say in a small voice.
She smiles, "is that yogurt???"
"Yeah"
"Give me some!!!" she squeals.
We both laugh and share the yogurt. But I keep asking myself the same question.
