Ellie POV
"Ellie?" I averted my gaze from the window to observe Ramond. He was holding a small box in his hand, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity as he took a seat next to me on the ledge.
I gave him a small smile.
"You ok?"
"Just letting everything sink in," I sighed.
"Although your birthday is coming to an end, I wanted to give you this"
He passed me the little box. I opened it and saw the most beautiful necklace ever. "Ramond... I love it."
I leaned over to hug him. "Thank you," I whispered.
He picked it up as I turned around, lifting my hair up. He clipped it on. I looked down, lifting it on to my palm, staring at it.
I leaned back on the wall. "You ok?"
"Yeah..."
"What are you thinking of?"
"That... life is good right now. In just a year, I found my mate, been reunited with my family, I'm a mother and... I became a Luna."
"And in a few days, you become my wife," he leaned in, giving me a kiss.
I smiled through it as he pulled away.
"I wish my mum was here, I wish your mum was here." I looked at him after saying that. "I wish my brother was here," he sighed. "I wish... we can see them one last time, mostly my dad, I wish he could see my mother one last time, that we know they're watching over us."
"My vow is to make sure that our kids still have their mother by the time they're our age."
"My vow is to make sure my kids are safe even if it kills me..."
"The night my mother died, I felt like I was a different person."
"We all feel like that, Ramond." I took his hand, giving it a light squeeze.
A quiet knock happened. "Come in," Ramond ordered.
It was Derek.
"Dad?"
"Hey." he closed the door behind him. "Since we're not long till the wedding, I wanted to give Ellie something. It belonged to my mate, and it was always passed down. It was her great, great, great-grandmother ring. The first Luna to start this pack."
He passed it to me.
"Derek, I can't take this... this is something you should keep"
"Now, what would I do with it?" He chuckled. "Besides, Marie saw you as her daughter. She would have passed it down to you anyway,"
"Thank you... Derek."
"You take good care of her and your kids," he said to his son.
"I will, Dad." he smiled at us.
"She would have been proud of you... the both of you, well have a goodnight and once again Happy birthday Ellie" I gave him a smile. He left us to it.
"That was generous of my Dad," Ramond chuckled. "I love it. It holds a meaning to all Luna's that's kept this pack running, being the mother to them."
Ramond was smiling at me. "What?" I giggled.
"Who is this, and what have you done to my childish mate I knew at the start?"
"I will always be a child by heart, Ramond Anthony James,"
Always.
