Chapter 36 - Attacking

Ramond POV

"Good morning, my dear." I gently placed my hands on her swollen bump from behind and kissed her cheek.

She turned around, smiling.

"What are you making?"

"Just some smoothie that's meant to be good"

I smiled, staring into her chocolate brown eyes.

"What?" She smiled.

"Just glad I have you."

She leaned in and kissed me.

'We need to tell her, and we come back safely for our mate, and for our pups,' My wolf said to me.

I pulled away. "Right, missy, we need to talk."

"About?"

"Let me just." I lifted her up onto the counter, making her giggle. I stood between her legs, my stomach pressing down on her bump as my hands rested on her thighs.

"You're due in 3 days an-"

"Don't remind me," she groaned.

"And, we've decided to surprise attack today. We found his location. Mapped every direction down. It's best we finish this before you give birth."

"What?" Her face dropped.

"It was gonna happen at some point, Ellie."

"I-I know..."

"You alright?" I frowned.

"Can you... just hug me?"

"Of course, baby," I pulled her into a hug, rubbing her back. "I'll come back, then we can live on with no worries," she squeezed me tighter like she didn't want to let go. Heck, I didn't even want to let go either.

We pulled away. "I will be back, I couldn't lie to you."

"Thank you for being truthful," she quietly said. I smiled lightly as I helped her down.

Ellie POV

He wasn't kidding.

All the Alphas were getting their men ready to fight. And to think we may lose them...

Nick and Clint walked over. "Please... be safe."

"Don't you worry about us." Clint reassured.

"All 3 of us will come back in no time." Nick beamed in confidence.

I gave them a nod.

"I'm gonna stay here with her, just in case," Riley said.

"You sure that's a good thing?" Clint questioned.

"With you all leaving and just mainly the women and kids here... We're vulnerable. Riley, fine with me. "

"Alright..."

Clint went to walk off.

"Wait!" He turned around as I hugged him so tightly.

"Please be safe," I whispered.

He smiled at that.

"You too," he walked away.

I hugged Nick. "You too, your mate wants you back in one piece too," I winked.

"Yeah... she's pregnant. " he awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.

I playfully rolled my eyes. "Guess someone didn't wear protection."

"Says the pregnant women talking,"

"In my defence, I knew him since we were kids and only mated after a couple of months."

"Yeah, well, we didn't hate each other, and I went to school with her."

"Touche, anyways, take care of yourself. That's a command from your Luna, and for your mate's sake," he smiled at that as he walked away.

I saw Ramond talking to Alpha Edward.

He looked up at me and smiled, excusing himself as he walked up to me.

"Please be safe..." I pulled my jacket over a bit more to keep myself warm.

He nodded slowly and turned away from me, ready to leave. I swallowed hard, trying to hold back my tears.

Suddenly, he turned around and kissed me passionately.

Tears fell as he pulled away.

"I'll come back, look after yourself," He softly spoke, gently wiping away my tears.

I nodded in agreement. "I will." He gave me a final kiss. "I love you," he whispered, gazing into my eyes. "I love you too..."

He gave me a small smile before joining the others.

Auntie Kye stood by me, rubbing my back. "Sucks, doesn't it?"

She watched her husband with my dad and their brother.

"Yeah..."

"They'll be fine," she reassured.
