They laid on the couch on their sides facing one another. A beautiful kind of drowsiness hung over them as they gazed at each other. Aubrey felt the warmth radiating from Harry and snuggled deeper into his chest. Strong inked arms encircled Aubrey’s frame. Their breaths were in sync. In that moment the world was peaceful and everything was right.

Harry pressed his plump lips to her forehead. “Do you realize how beautiful you are?” He whispered in her ear. Aubrey raised her gaze to his with a hint of desperation. “So beautiful. You are so gorgeous. You have to believe me.” For the first time in her life, Aubrey felt that she could be beautiful. She brushed her lips against his. Their lips moved in synchronization for an immeasurable moment. Aubrey pulled Harry by the collar of his shirt so he was sitting up and wrapped her legs around his waist. She tugged on his curls and he moaned into her mouth.  Harry inclined his head causing his curls to fall back.

Taking the hem of his shirt she pulled it over his head. She trailed kisses down his torso. She whispered in his ear, “You’re flawless.”

“Aubrey, I-” His voice shook. His hands quivered as they reached out to caress her face.

“Babe it’s ok.” She reassured. He nodded and locked her gaze.

“Aubrey, I love you.” His voice was strong and sure.

“You…I-” Her mind was reeling and before she could think about what she was doing she darted from the room, the house, and the boy who loved her.

Aubrey ran as far as she could before collapsing behind a stone wall, naming the subdivision. Her chest heaved and she thought she might vomit. Black was closing over her rapidly. The last thing she thought before the darkness encompassed her was: He loves me. Harry Styles loves me. And I ran from him.

Aubrey opened her eyes to find a pair of bloodshot eyes gazing at her. Tears stained his cheeks. She laid across his folded legs and his arm propped her up. Having realized that Aubrey had regained consciousness, Harry carefully rested her on the grass and immediately scooted away from her. He wasn’t sure where they stood. All he knew was he needed her and she ran away, taking everything with her.

The recent events rushed back into Aubrey’s mind. She tore towards him and hugged him tightly. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her, not sure what to make of the situation. “I’m so sorry, Harry. I’m so very sorry, Harry!”

“Aubrey I don’t understand.” He pulled back to look at her. Vulnerability was evident on his face. “What do you want from me?” His orbs look tortured.

“I know I’ve messed this up. I just-” Aubrey struggled to find the words. “I need you. Harry, I’m in love with you and that terrifies me.”

“It’s ok. I would never hurt you. You can trust me. I will love you with everything I have, I promise.”

“I know that, I do. It just scares me, that I want you…like this.”

“I’ll keep you safe. You have my heart and I intend on keeping yours.” Then they were kissing and it was different than before, because they were each others. Harry’s fingers slipped under the material of Aubrey’s shirt and traced intricate patterns on her back, raising goose bumps in his wake. The world bustled with activity around them, but their worlds were in each other’s arms.

*Author’s Note: The song on the side is absolutely gorgeous and I started sobbing the first time I heard it.
