The girl was stunning. Her brown locks had a golden warmth in them. She was slender and tall. Her skin was tanned. Freckles speckled her nose. Her brown eyes were liquid and shined. Aubrey watched her silently from across the classroom. The girl's eyes crinkled as she laughed at something Louis grumbled. She was pulled from her observing as class started.

Classes dragged by before English. She yearned for the warmth of Harry's presence. Sequences of events flashed before her eyes the entirety of her classes, revolving around Harry. When she found him waiting for her at the door of English class, she felt a release.

When the bell rang signaling the end of class, Harry met Aubrey at her desk. She smiled up at him and he reciprocated with a grin that made his dimples pop out. She rose from her desk and Harry reached out to entwine their hands. The silence was comfortable as they walked to the lunch room. Their presences were comforting to one another.

Aubrey noticed the girl she had observed that morning from across the cafeteria, sitting at the table they usually sat at. "Harry, do you know who that is?"

"Oh yeah, that's Chaise. Apparently Niall and her have a thing."

"Isn't this her first day?"

"Yes. They used to be neighbors, but then she moved to America. She just moved back. They are really close."

"Hello, I'm Harry. I've heard loads about you from Nialler." Harry introduced himself once they arrived at the table. He smirked at Niall's deep red blush. Zayn, Louis, Liam, Carolann, Marie, and Lilly all laughed. Aubrey nudged him to stop him from further embarrassing Niall, despite the corners of her mouth being turned up.

"Hey." Chaise smiled warmly.

"I'm Aubrey. It's nice to meet you."

"Same here."

Aubrey took notice of Niall and Chaise sneaking glances at one another through the duration of lunch. Her heart warmed at the thought of Niall fancying someone. He was awfully sweet and he deserved to have someone equally as kind. Chaise seemed like the type of person Aubrey would be friends with. She hoped she would be.

Harry slung his arm around Aubrey's shoulder as they turned to leave. "Wait! Aubrey, do you want to hang out after school sometime?" Aubrey smiled at Chaise's sweet gesture. She admired the girl's confidence, with her having just starting at the school and only having spoken to Aubrey during lunch.

"That would be lovely. When were you thinking?"

"Tonight?"

"Awesome. That'd be splendid!" Chaise smiled at her and turned back to meet Niall and the rest of the group.

"Niall seems to be quite smitten with her, it's nice that you two are going to get to know each other." He seemed genuinely pleased.

"I think so, she seems really kindhearted." He nodded.

"I'll miss you tonight babe." Her cheeks flush at this.

"I'll miss you too."

Her afternoon classes flew by, while she worried about her plans for later that day. However she is excited about the prospect of hanging out with Chaise. They were in the same Science class the last hour of the day so they walked from there to their lockers together.

After they packed up their things, Aubrey followed behind Chaise's car. Heat enveloped the pair as they walked in the front door. The tension in their muscles induced by the frigid wind outside evaporated. They removed their jackets and such and moved into Chaise's bedroom.

"Harry told me you moved from America. How did you like it there?"

"It was lovely, I'm a Brit at heart though," She chuckles. "Plus they've got nothing like the BBC. It's been a pretty easy transition so far though, since I've lived here before. Also I already know Niall because we lived in the same neighborhood when we were younger."

"Lovely! All the great writers come from here and there's loads of great English programs, so I hope to stay in England forever."

"I do too. I adore it here." Aubrey smiled at her in response. "So you can write then?"

"Um, I'd like to think so." Aubrey's cheeks were bright red and she looked at the wood flooring.

"I'm sure you're brilliant!" Chaise assured.

"Thank you." She said sincerely. Aubrey was grateful to have a new friend. Chaise proved to be one of the best.

*Author's Note: I meant to post this sooner, but it took longer than I anticipated to write. This chapter is incredibly important to the plot. I've figured out a bunch of ideas for what's going to happen next and the next chapters lead into that. I'm elated about my ideas for the next chapter and the fact that I'm close to getting 500 reads! That's bloody fantastic and it means so much to me! I hope everyone enjoys New Years!
