Chapter 24: Leaving you Behind

5 months later........
August 5th 2017

Dan's POV

"Phil! What the hell is this!!?" I yelled as Phil came down the stairs innocently smirking as I had my hands on my hips shaking my head slowly.

"What is it Dan?" Phil asked innocently but giggled slightly and I huffed in annoyance.

"I told you no more bloody house plants! We have enough cactuses!" I protested pointing at a medium size cactus and Phil laughed.

"You can never have too many house plants!" Phil said and I shoved him slightly but chuckled.

"You are the worst person to live with!" I told him which made him laugh even more, "Awe, we both know you don't mean that! Right Dan......" Phil said nudging my arm and I have him an evil look and shoved him again as he fell into the wall slightly and we both started laughing.

We were interrupted when our doorbell ran and Phil got up to answer it as I followed behind him to see who it was.

"Oh hey Tommy, what's up?" Phil greeted walking up the stairs with Tommy.

"Hey guys, I'm really sorry to drop in like this. I just really need to talk to you." He said taking off his jacket and placed it on his arm and we walked into the living room sitting down as Phil walked in with a tray of hot drinks.

"Is everything okay Tommy? Is something wrong the Becca?" I asked worried and he shook his head.

"No no, Becca's okay. She just won't leave the house, she spends her days sitting on our bedroom floor. Just upset and confused, I tried getting her out of the house but she won't budge. Anyways, I have to go away for a few months because the university wants me to take a few months of to travel to India and explore the country due to my research that I've been doing." He said taking a sip from his drink.

"That's amazing! Why don't you go!?" I suggested and he sighed.
"I really want to! But I can't leave Becca alone, not after everything." He said as he looked at the floor and sighed.

"Tommy, we'll take care of Becca. She'll be okay. We will visit her every day and she's more than welcome to see us. Go on you're trip well look after Becca, she'll be ok." I told him and he fiddled with his wedding ring and sighed looking at us.

"I know you guys will take care of Becca. But I just can't.......leave her. I'll miss her far too much, an-and the baby. Not like this." He said sandlot and Phil patted his shoulder.

"Hey, you're a good man Tommy. Go on this trip, it'll be good for you. At least, think about it. Okay?" Phil said and Tommy sighed and nodded managing a smile.

"Yes, I will. Thank you so much for listening. I just needed to get that off my chest." He admitted his blue eyes hitting with worry and sadness as Phil comforted him.

"It's not a problem Tommy. We're your friends. We're here for you, you know me and Dan see you as a brother." Phil said kindly which made me smile at him.

"Yeah, a brother who is married and trying to have a baby with my surrogate sister." I commented as Phil punched my arm and Tommy laughed slightly. "You're such a dick Phil!" I told him which made Tommy and Phil both laugh and I chuckled rubbing my arm and nudged Phil in return.
