Chapter 15: Life can be cruel

Dan's POV

I just stood there smiling. I couldn't believe this girl who was insanely beautiful and funny just gave me her number.

I've never had many girlfriends or dates. The last time I had a girlfriend was when I was 18, her name was Alyssa and we travel around the world together to places like Paris and Rome. We broke up because I went to university and she moved to America.

It was a good relationship I've had a few dates here and there but other than that I've had no other experience with woman, and now this gorgeous girl gave me her number and asked if I could call her. I mean HELL yeah I am, but I couldn't stop thinking about it.

"Ahem!" Someone cleared their throat, I looked up to see Phil standing there arms crossed and tapping his foot looking pissed. "Dan! Where the hell have you been, you've been gone for two hours. Me and Molly were looking for you everywhere." Phil said, his voice sounded annoyed but at the same time calm.

"So sorry Phil, I just met this girl and-ugh I can't describe how amazing she is. She's so pretty and funny. She also knew us from the Phil is not on fire video. She thought you were cute." I said and Phil smiled. "She really said that?" He asked grinning, I punched his shoulder slightly making him laugh.

"Oi, I saw her first." I smiled at my friend. "So what's her name?" Phil asked as we left Becca and Tommy's house walking in the cold, dark street of London.

"Her name's Jess." I said smiling. She told me her birth name was Jessie but everyone has always called her Jess.

"Hang on! Becca's old college friend?" Phil asked tilting his head slightly as I nodded. "Yeah, you'll like her Phil, she's really nice." I said smiling, "I'm sure I will" Phil said pulling the sleeves on his jumper to insulate more warmth on his hands as we walked back to our apartment.

As soon as we got home Phil went to bed straight away, I tried sleeping but I kept staring at the small piece of paper handed to me by Jess. I couldn't stop thinking about how intelligent and cute she was, she kept telling about her views on poetry and she studied law at university too, an even better when she said it was an absolute piece of shit too.

She claimed she choose that option because her dad wanted her to. We talked for hours about everything we love and our hobbies, and about YouTube and how she said that in 2007 she had a crush on Tyler Oakely before she found out he was gay.
I slowly drifted and cleared my mind of everything.

I woke up around 11am and turned over to see a note stuck to my lamp, I grabbed it and opened it up.

Hey Dan,
I went out to get some shopping and to get my eyes tested and new glasses. I'll see you later.

I sighed and got out of bed stretching my arms over my head relived when some of my sore muscles clicked. I got out of bed rubbing my eyes removing the sleepy dust stuck to my eyelids.

I went into the kitchen making a bowl of cereal and tea and sat down watching attack on Titan, I still haven't finished the last few episodes. I arranged to meet Becca and Tommy today after they went to the doctor to see why Becca can't get pregnant.

I had a shower and put on my black skinny jeans and my plain black shirt. While I was straightening my hair I heard a ping come from my phone and opened up the message it was from an 'unknown number'
