Chapter 29: An Amazing Feeling

Dan's POV

I woke up feeling better than I have been for the past two weeks, I felt more refreshed and happy.

Happy that Jess had given me an explanation and a reason why she broke up with me. I appreciate the fact that we can't be together because of her father. But what about the baby?

A child should have a family, I mean I want to be there all the way through Jess's pregnancy with the baby. I want to experience everything with her. And hopefully Jess's abusive dick of a father won't find out about the baby, because of her does we're all in danger.

I shook my head to remove my thoughts. 'Don't think about these things Dan, focus on Jess and the baby.' I thought to myself sighing and getting up and looked over on my night stand to see the ultrasound of the baby.

I picked it up seeing the tiny blob and my eyes became blurry with tears, happy tears and I had the biggest grin on my face.
I was actually going to be a dad. This is my son or daughter, this teeny, tiny little thing growing inside of Jess is our baby.

I wiped my eyes taking the picture and walking over to Phil's room.
He doesn't know about the baby yet or the pictures since he fell asleep yesterday I couldn't show him the pictures of the baby, and I was so excited to tell him.

"Phil, wake up!" I jumped onto his bed shaking him slightly as he groaned pushing my shoulder as I chuckled.

"Dan, piss off its only ten thirty!" Phil groaned and I smacked his shoulder as he yelled in pain and he glared at me but I ended up laughing because his hair was sticking up in every direction and he couldn't see properly without his glasses.
"What the hell Dan!?" Phil yelled grabbing his glasses and putting them on and I laughed.

"OI, it's you're fault. You fell asleep yesterday and I wanted to show you the baby." I said excitedly and Phil moaned not listening to me.
"Baby? What baby?" He mumbled rubbing his eyes and I pushed him.

"My baby! The one Jess is having, she had an ultrasound yesterday and she's thirteen weeks pregnant, I listened to its heartbeat Phil! It's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard, and we got pictures!" I said and Phil's eyes shot open and he jumped excitedly scooting next to me as I held out the pictures.

"Wait!? So it's official......?" Phil asked and I smiled nodding.
"Yes, Jess is having a baby. I'm gonna be a dad!" I breathed out and Phil clapped and hugged me, surprising me and he released me and shook me.

"Dan! I'm so so happy for you! You're gonna be a dad, do you know what it is yet?! Are you having twins! Oh my god if you have twins you'll never sleep, wait! What about Jess's dad? About custody of the bab-" I put my hand to his mouth to silence him and I chuckled.

"Do you ever stop talking? Okay, we don't know what the baby is gonna be yet. I want to know but I have to ask Jess if she either wants to know the sex or be surprised. Also Jess's dad will not know about this, we can't let him find out if he does we're all in danger. And custody wise were not sure yet and no we're not having twins!" He told Phil and he chuckled slightly.

"Okay, okay! Now show me you're baby." He said and I held up the pictures and Phil's eyes widened and he looked at them in 'awe'.

"There's the head, and that's the body and the legs and arms are currently being formed as you can see." I told him and he patted my shoulder.

"I bet it's a boy!" Phil said excitedly and I laughed looking at the photos.

"I don't care what it is, as long as it's happy and healthy." I said smiling and Phil took the photos gently from my hand and stared at them.
"This tiny blob is you're baby. I can't believe it." He said and my vision became blurry with tears and I wiped them with my thumb.
