Dan's POV

It had been two weeks since Jess told me that she wanted things between us to end.

I couldn't move, or speak. I just wanted to go to sleep and not wake up again.

That's how I felt.

My hair was messy and curly, I had bags under my eyes from lack of sleep and my face had gone white from lack of sunlight on my face.

I only showered and ate to not worry Phil, who could see I was depressed and heartbroken enough and I barely came out of my bedroom and always had my curtains closed.

I was falling apart, that was one way to put it.

I thousand questions were running through my mind.

Why did she leave?
Did she not love me anymore?
Was she always faking it?
Did I do something wrong?
If I did, why can't she tell me?
Is she upset like I am?
Has she found someone new?

I started crying again thinking about it when I stopped as Phil knocked on my door and opened it slightly to find me sitting on the floor cross legged.

"Hey Dan, are you alright?" He asked sitting next to me and I shook my head.

"No, I'm really not." I said quietly and he nodded and patted my shoulder as I managed him small smile.

"I know you aren't. I'm sorry bud, but it's been two weeks. You need to get you're life back on track. I know what she did was evil and horrid, but I hate seeing you like this. Please, do something at least." He said and I sat there in silent not saying a word and he sighed getting up.

"Okay Dan, at least think about it. Okay, I need to go out to get a couple of things. Please at least shower or get out of this depressing room." He said and I nodded and he walked out of my room and I heard the door shut and I sighed forcing myself to get up.

Phil was right. I needed to get my life back on track, slowly at a time.

I headed to the bathroom and turned on the shower as the hot water sprayed against my hair and face as the soothing water started calming me slightly and removing my thoughts.

Okay, At least this was an improvement at least. Slowly and steady wins the race as my mum always use to say to me when I was a kid.

I towel dried my hair and straightened it before slipping on my skinny jeans and out on a simple black top before heading to the kitchen and I started making myself a very late lunch.

I wanted to call Becca to see how she was.
Tommy had told Becca he was going on the trip and Becca encouraged him to go next month and I promised Tommy me and Phil would take care of her.

"Hey Becca? Are you alright?" I asked and she chuckled over the phone slightly.

"Yes Dan, I'm fine really. I'm happy for Tommy plus since he's gone for six months get ready for everyday romance movies!" She said excitedly over the phone as I rolled my my eyes and groaned.

"Ugh Becca, you know I hate those kind of movies, you forced me to watch them when we were teenagers. And last year when you made me watch the fault in our stars and you cried!" I stated and she scoffed over the phone.
