Jocelyn POV



I woke up in pain. My head and ribs hurt like a bitch and my face felt sore as hell. Before opening my eyes and listening to the sounds that were in the room, I could tell that I was in a hospital. Trying to relax a little, things flashed through my head that reminded me of the reasons for the pain and for being in a hospital... again. I stirred a little, then I felt a hand squeeze mine and I tensed up thinking that Marcus may be here with me. But when I heard my baby's voice, "Jocelyn...Jocelyn, baby wake up for me please. I need to see those gorgeous eyes of yours...please. We need to talk and talk quick before the cops come back." Immediately, I opened my eyes and thank goodness the lights were still turned off.

I looked at Domnic and asked, "How long was I out?" "Almost 24 hours. I was starting to get worried but the doctors explained that head traumas were tricky." he said as he wiped a stray strand from my face and grimaced when he saw the black eye that I most definitely was adorning now. I looked at him again and told him, "I know that you know who did this. This is basically a warning. I love you but I will not let him hurt you if I can help it, Domnic. I will stay away from you until the wedding if I have to."

Domnic walked to the window, glanced back at me then took a breath. "I think that you may be right, Thickness. As long as we're not together, he won't hurt you like this. So, I will be a good boy and somewhat date Alex for a while. Let her think that I might be falling for her. But, please believe me when I say to you that - that relationship will not be 2 sided. You know that I only love you and that I will not do anything to mess up our relationship with one another. We will only be separated like this until we can be together." he said as he walked back to the bed and sat down. "You have to know ahead of time that I will kiss and hold her only as needed. I will not, under any circumstances, have sex with her. She will have to drug me for that to happen. I will play the 'I need time' card for as long as I possibly can before she and I will publicly become a couple. Just know that it will only be in name only. Alex just won't know about it. I want you to know way ahead of time about my movements so you won't be blindsided and be hurt. Hurting you is the last thing that I want to do." he said as he stared me straight in the eyes to make sure that I understood him perfectly.



Domnic POV


After I explained the changes to her, I knew that I had to leave soon. I didn't want to but I had to. She was broken and I couldn't stay to help put her back together. I can't wait for the next few months to pass by. Once she says 'I Do', I don't think that I will even let her out of my sight for a long time.  "I already spoken to my parents about your position and they said due to unforeseen circumstances, they will keep you on staff and that your job will be waiting for you when the doctor has released you within the next 2 months.  Now due to the changes, I wont be able to see you for a couple of months before you start at Sanders Inc.,  but would you promise me one thing Thickness?   Would you keep the ring on your finger?   That way when I see you, I would know if you still feel the same for me and still want to marry me."  I asked her before I leaned down to give her the kiss of all kisses.   I wont be able to see her until she comes to New York and start work.   So, this kiss will have to be memorable.  Since I have to keep up the pretenses so Alex and Marcus wont try anything. 


Alex POV


I had been trying to get in contact with Domnic all day yesterday and today. When Marcus called me yesterday, he informed me of what had happened with Jocelyn and him and that he needed an alibi for that time. Well since Domnic didn't answer the phone, I have no choice but to vouch for the whereabouts of Marcus Smith. So when the cops came by my hotel that's exactly what I told them.

It's now Friday evening and Marcus has just finished telling me about what had happened with him and Jocelyn from high school till last night. Now I know that if I get pregnant by Domnic, not only will she no longer be in the picture, I will have the money and fame as well as the business.   All I have to do now since she is in the hospital and Domnic goes back to New York after graduation, is make him fall in love with me.   If things don't move like I want it to, then I will have to seduce him like I did the first time.   But this time, I will end up pregnant and with Domnic.
