Ch 42 .... Protective detail???

Domnic's POV

Knowing that my brother will keep my baby safe, Mac and I peeled off to get home. I was tired from the day. I just couldn't deal with Alex tonight. With Marcus in town, I just know that he is up to something. I could feel it. Literally... I was coming to a red light down the street from work. But when I stepped on the brake, for some reason the car wasn't slowing down. "Domnic, you do see the red light... right?" Mac asked looking at me like 'What the fuck dude!'

I kept pumping the brake....but nothing. The next thing I knew was there was a 18 wheeler on my left just picking up speed when his light changed to green and we were going to be hit.... hard if I couldn't stop. Yanking my car to another lane just in time when the truck slammed on brake and slid into another lane. We just barely missed each other but I didn't see the other truck heading straight for us.........

L.D. POV

After leaving Jocelyn's parents house, I headed straight for the hospital that dad texted us about. Domnic warned me about Marcus but I didn't think that this man had the balls to do what I think he has done. Watching Jocelyn out of the corner of my eye, I see that she is terrified of not knowing exactly of what has happened to Domnic. Jadyn is trying to console her but I can tell that she is just as worried too. As soon as I check on my brother, I'm coming for you Marcus......

Jadyn's POV

Oh my goodness. This man is just like my Ex fiance'. They threaten women with what they love in order to get control over them. Thank goodness I spoke with my brothers and L.D. was able to be there for me. I didn't see the signs at first, I actually thought that he loved me. But I almost married a man that only wanted to get involved with me and my family for the money.

Now looking at Jocelyn, I don't like the look in her eyes. I know that she is scared for Domnic, but I have a feeling that her fear is more that Domnic.   Marcus may just have gotten Jocelyn to see what he's capable of.  I believe that he just may have went too far for her and may have tapped into Jocelyn's fear.   Fear of losing Domnic....physically.   

Jocelyn' POV

"He's gonna be OK, he's gonna be OK, he's gonna be OK." I kept saying to myself over and over.   He has to be OK.   I wouldn't be able to live with myself if anything was to happen to him because of me.   I know that Domnic will be mad, but Marcus has won.   I will leave Domnic......for his sake.   Just as soon as I see that he will be OK, I will get everything in place, then I am gone.   My mind is made up.   I can't let anyone know what I am up to though.   Domnic has already said that he and Mac would kidnap me if need be.   So, I will have to do this discretely as possible.   I may even have to pretend that I will go back to Marcus if I have to.   Domnic may loose his family's business but at least he will still be alive.

Domnic's family is very protective, just like him.   Even though we just met tonight, there is this protectve connection between me and Domnic's siblings.   L.D. did not leave me alone with Marcus at all tonight.   And now, Jadyn is trying to console me because of what Marcus most likely has done to Domnic.   I can't let this family get hurt because of me.   I will protect them all.   Just as soon as I have finished a couple projects and the Gala that Mrs. Sanders has given me, I will leave.   I have enough money saved to relocate to another state.   As long as everyone thinks that I am over with Domnic and falling for Marcus again, Domnic will be safe.

As we walked into the hospital, I noticed Alex was walking out the other door.   Thank goodness she didn't see me.   She probably would call Marcus.   Heading to Domnic's room, we caught the attention  of Mr. Sanders.   "Guys, Domnic's going to be OK.  He's stable and asleep right now.  Mac was also in the accident.  Thank goodness they only had a few scrapes and bruises.   Mac is in the room down the hall with Star.  Jocelyn, may I have a word with you before you go in to see Domnic?" he asked as L.D. and Jadyn walked in to see their brother.

Mr. Sanders   POV

I just got off the phone with parking lot security when the kids walked up.   "Guys, Domnic's going to be OK. He's stable and asleep right now. Mac was also in the accident. Thank goodness they only had a few scrapes and bruises.   Mac is in the room down the hall with Star. Jocelyn, may I have a word with you before you go in to see Domnic?" I said while trying to get my thoughts together.   I need to get some more information about Marcus before I decide on how I should handle some things.

"Jocelyn, I know that you are worried about Domnic, but rest assure he will be fine.   Domnic has just asked me to look into the parking lot security for anything suspicious.   By any chance, would you know of what we should be looking for?" I asked her thinking that she would know more about what is going on.   She took a deep breath and told me a story about a man that should be locked up for what he has done to her just as well as for what he has done to the other guy that she knew.   I believe that she may be right when she stated that Marcus will stop at nothing to get what he wants.   When she had finished giving me all the info that I needed, I got a call from my security people and they told me that they had checked all of the cameras in that area and they had a guy on the video messing with Domnic's car but they couldn't see his face.  

I told Jocelyn of what they had found and she asked me for a favor.   "Mr. Sanders, I have no doubt in my heart and soul that the guy on the video is Marcus.   But as usual, there is no proof." she said then sighed as a tear started to roll.   She looked at me as a daughter in pain when she said, "I have no choice but to give Marcus what he wants and I ask that you don't tell anyone....especially Domnic.   For all he needs to know is that I am declining his proposal and just as soon as I have finished up with some projects, I will be leaving the company as well as New York.   There is still some time for him to marry someone other than Alex.  I refuse to be selfish and end up with his pain or death on my conscious.   I know that he will be upset and heartbroken but at least he will be alive."   With shaky fingers and tears pouring, Jocelyn reached up and took off her necklace that was holding a ring on it.   When she placed the ring in my hand, I noticed that this is Domnic's grandmothers ring.   My wife's mother.   Right then I knew that Jocelyn meant more to my son than I thought.   Not just a young man wanting to get with an older woman.   Right then, Jocelyn became my daughter and I was going to protect her just as I would any of my children.

I stood up to hug her but she stated that she needed a moment before she spoke to Domnic.   Before she break his heart just as hers is breaking at this moment.

It's kinda hard typing and wiping your tears at the same time.........

How do you guys think that Domnic is going to take it when she breaks up with him?

Now that Mr. Sanders knows Jocelyn's story, L.D.'s big brother and BF has been intentionally hurt, should everyone just back off and let Marcus get what he wants?   Or should they fight back and give Marcus what he deserves?   Or should Jocelyn just let this young, hot, decatent piece of chocolate temptation go before its too late?   What you guys think?????
