There were only three things Akira could do better than anyone else could- sleep, daydream and read books. Her mother kept telling her the consequences of wasting time and not studying. Even Akira knew how bad the situation would get if she didn't get into a good Engineering college. But somehow, she could never motivate herself to do the right thing, i.e, study. it wasn't as if her parents had forced her into engineering, she was lucky that way. She chose engineering simply because she loved mathematics and computer programming, and never did she regret her choice. At the same time, she wondered why she wasn't that motivated to study, to follow her dreams.
That posed a problem. She wasn't sure if engineering was the right thing for her. Her parents obviously said, "You're just trying to run away from your duties ." And she obviously felt angry at them for not understanding her. So she decided to find a solution for her lack of motivation herself.
Akira loved to relate her life to her favorite fictional characters, and she could, until now. She found it hard to match any of their personalities. She made a list of all he favorite characters and their personality traits she loved the most,
1. Harry Potter- Bravery, loyalty, empathy
2. Septimus Heap- Dedication, determination
3. Katniss Everdeen- Mental Strength
4. Oliver Twist (Tom Hardy Version)- Chuztpah
.... And the list went on and on. Maybe, she thought, they were doing what they loved, that is why they were so awesome. But then another thought struck her; her favorite characters didn't always love what they did, take Eragon or Alex Rider or Katniss for example, but they did it anyways. This was when their best traits were seen.
Then maybe, I am running away from my duties, she unwillingly admitted to herself. She then asked herself, if her life were a book, of which she was the protagonist, would anyone read it?
The answer was no. Who would want to read a book about a girl who just dreams of being awesome, but never really achieves anything.
That was a shocker. Akira then thought some more and followed Boy 412's method of evaluating her situation,
