That's what it is, a game of thrones
Where weaknesses are exploited and sold as faith
Where a few are broken, a few are bent, a few are forgotten
All to rise and go down in flames.
No hero escaped the shadow of flaws
Then why do we make Gods
Out of mortals, mere flesh and blood
Just to disappoint ourselves when they fall apart?
Do we seek courage or hope
I know not,
But I do know that nothing lasts against time
Not our heroes or monuments
Running after immortality
Got many stuck in the trap of the future and the past
When will we understand
To live in the moment and not chase empty dreams
Dreams like cast, support the bone
Only to leave it after some time, to fend for its own
Wake up, I say
Look beyond your Gods and chase not fruitless quests
Look beyond the greed and lust
For one day all of it shall turn to dust
If you seek hope or faith, don't feed off another
Look inside and I promise, you will find everything
You will see
To make you your own hero
And that's all you'll ever need.
