Hey there! Today we got a chance to speak with LynnS13, the renowned Crypt Keeper and Dark Mistress of WattVampires!
What can you tell us about the Vampire profile, Lynn? What do you offer the Collective?
Wattvampires started around two years ago during my short adventure as an Engagement Ambassador. The original intention of the page remains: we wanted to build up a little haven for writers who like all things fangy and bloody. Back then, the Darkside of Wattpad was sort of overlooked. The Crypt became an ongoing project that crossed bridges within Wattpad (we also have quite a successful page in Wattvampiros, our Spanish counterpart.)
Soon, several people lend a helping hand and now we have an array of Keepers and Collaborators in both languages. emmylessrosaimeexalin24Pixee_Stix are essential to the Crypt in both sides of the aisle.
@ParanormalCommunity is our Scary Big Mamma! We are happy to have found a place to meet all kinds of other people out there that also share a passion for things that go bump in the night.
Our friends in the Collective can always knock at our door when they have specific questions about vampires. I think we even have one of our own in exile in your page. Did I say exile? No. It's a friendly exchange. You guys keep Morgan, we keep the benefits of not having her bossing around in the Crypt and Belfry. Damned Morgan never returns her books on time... It's a constant headache!

What inspired you to make the Vampire profile?
Solely selfish reasons. There wasn't one. We love vampires. There it is.
However, if you want a longer answer, looking into the vampire trends at the time, we noticed most of the books popping up on Wattpad were following the paranormal romance route when it came to vamps. Nothing wrong about that, who doesn't love tall, dark and deadly?
Nevertheless we thought there was a whole lot of opportunities missing, venues for our writers to experiment on. Vampires have been around forever, in several shapes and forms. We wanted to explore them all and give a chance to our writers to come up with something that might even take us by surprise!
What is so interesting about Vampires over other preternatural creatures?
They reign supreme! Sorry. Can't help being a fangirl. Let me be cool about it now. We all share the uncertainties between life and final death and need to be nice to one another.
Vampires are and will always be a representation of all those things we find fascinating about death and beyond. They are the safe bet, with one foot anchored in the world of the living: a monster with a perfect human disguise. They lend themselves to be metaphors for the human condition like few other monsters can.
Do you remember how we met, my beloved Lieutenant? How close are @WattVampires and @ParanormalCommunity?
Hecks yeah! We stumbled upon one another in the Darkside of Wattpad, in one of those threads about the Paranormal that eventually developed into the awesomeness that is @ParanormalCommunity . Ever since then we've been like black on an undertaker. Solid.
You've written a lot of the Monster Manual chapters for us, what sorts of books are there for @WattVampires? Do you have your own version?

Monster Manual is our guide source to a whole lot of critters out there. Wattvampires has something more or less on the same "vein" (Ed. - HAH!) . Our Creature Feature deals with vampires around the world and effective ways to proliferate or fight against their ranks. We try to keep it fresh and interactive. We love our readership and so far we have been quite successful locating their vampires of choice and putting them in the page for all to know.
You've started a lot of our hashtag campaigns, and came up with a few of your own! What contests or campaigns do you have going on right now, or plan to have in the future?
We love contests and challenges!
Right now, in celebration of the most wonderful time of the year (the whole month of October, that is) we have the #31creepywords challenge that will go live on October 1 to the 31st.
Also, as you might know, there's nothing guaranteed to keep you up all night as vampires and caffeine. Sounds like a weird combination, but we have something deliciously decadent brewing along with CoffeeCommunity coming later this month.
And in December... Hold on to your red suits because we hear "Slay Bells Ringing" (yes, we went there!) There will be an awesome holiday contest. Can't wait!
